Trump On A Roll: Can He Be Stopped?

Donald Trump made it three in a row last night, winning the Nevada GOP Caucus by his largest margin to date. Trump won 46% of the vote, while Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz trailed much further behind with 24% and 21% of the vote, respectively. Ben Carson and John Kasich collected fewer than 10% of the vote together. In the important delegate race, Trump captured 12 delegates to five delegates each for Rubio and Cruz.

The establishment consensus told us that Trump has a ceiling on the support he could win in future votes and would become easier to beat as the crowded GOP field winnowed. Yet his winning margin pushed new heights in Nevada, inching closer to the 50% threshold as his two prime contenders, Rubio and Cruz, struggle to capture a quarter of the Republican vote.

The news for his opponents in upcoming races looks even more bleak. Trump leads in polls taken in virtually every upcoming vote with the exception of Texas where Cruz holds a single-digit lead over Trump. Polls released this week show Trump leading in Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Illinois and Michigan. Trump is even leading in Ohio over favorite son John Kasich. Cruz is in a dead heat with Trump in New Mexico, and Rubio has a slight lead in Utah. Trump could vanquish his remaining rivals in the race in the upcoming weeks. The Drudge Report declared him the nominee after last night's vote.

This is the logical conclusion of GOP politics and policies of the last 10-20 years -- the anti-government, simplistic jingoistic world view, disdain of science, etc etc - fed on by the Faux News and Rush Limbaugh's of the world, fueled by simpleton legislators entrenched in gerrymandered seats......welcome to the new world order/odor, GOPers!

Anon 11:10: like Pelosi, Reid, Obama, and Hitlery are any better.

BTW, the GOP is pro big government when it comes to war and empire, so don't believe the anti-government myth. At least Trump might be better than Hitlery and the rest of the GOP on starting stupid wars. Big maybe. It's 100% assured with Rubio and Hitlery, 98% with Cruz.
