Hoosiers For Honesty In Government Calls On Obama To Withdraw Carson Endorsement

Hoosiers for Honesty In Government PAC released a letter it sent to Sen. Barack Obama urging him to withdraw his endorsement of 7th District U.S. Rep. Andre Carson in the hotly-contested 4-way primary race. Carson and the Carson political machine "are practicing monarchy with a congressional seat and are hurting our community and a lot of people" the letter said. The letter asks Obama to "rehabilitate" the other Democratic candidates in the race by appearing with each of them. "These candidates should be allowed to run without the influence of the 1st formidable black presidential candidate backing the ‘least qualified’ candidate who is slated because of a ‘dying declaration’ from his grandmother to a group of hand-picked precinct committee people to send her ‘seed’ to Congress," the letter reads. The group is planning a rally this Friday, May 2 at 12:00 Noon at Obama's campaign headquarters in downtown Indianapolis at 2 N. Meridian.

If by "practicing monarchy" you mean "elected by the voters". Ernie Shearer has taken his bizarre obsession with Carson to another level.

Who are these "Hoosiers for Honest in Government" group> Have they registered yet with the proper offices? Who is funding them? Are you going to picket Lee Hamilton, Baron Hill, 40 to 50 Indiana mayors, a majority of the Democrats in the Indiana house of representatives.......a large number of Democratic senators in the Indiana senate....I smell republicans or Woody Myers money lurking somewhere.

Nothing more than concerned citizens. We will be joined by R's, D's, and L's.
Don't make more of it then it is.

Five bucks says it was Wilson who was deleted, any takers?

Poor Wilson, all he can do is watch or use his "fake" name.

The rain is to happen in the late afternoon. With the election right around the corner we need to get started. Bring your raincoat and boots.

The Kid is clearly the most likely of the whole lot to be a sockpuppet for others. The Kid stands little chance of being any sort of a 'people's advocate' because he's simply never been in such a role. His handlers have made frequent references to all the 'help' he gets now from a select few other M.O.C's. This goes so far as providing 'staff' to The Kid. Where'd the old Carson staff go? Were they tossed beneath the wheels of those vans ferrying voters around to polling places on election day?

Someone check The Kid's back. There has to be a large hole for somebody's hand to fit in as words are provided by all those helpful folks.

Quite the ventriloquist act we have going here, and where there's a ventriloquist, there is by definition a dummy, too.

If that's the best we can expect for that chair in the House, then let's borrow Charlie McCarthy from the Smithsonian. We'd be no worse off, and actually we could save $162,500 of tax dollars annually.

I keep asking myself, how the heck did we get ourselves into this mess to start with? The answer remains Evan Bayh, Andy Jacobs, the political powerbrokers of the Democratic Party thinking the Carson name was a winner. And, largely the Carson name is a winner. The error in that thinking of course is that it tosses out the door concern for who best to serve the 7th District. I am hoping that we have voters who have half a brain, but I am not optimistic in that we have a black voter culture that is tuned to the Carson name over the kind of qualities one seeks in a Congressman. We have this dude Wilson defending Andre with the kind of energy that is obsessive. Sound thinking people do not toss off the excuse for his election as "will of the voter" they say it for what it is, dirty politics. For the DCCC to even get involved in the primary and all these PAC's to support an unknown, unproved person, then add in his obvious lack of qualifications and poor performance in his past positions, appointment due to Grandma's influence, etc. and the recipe is total disaster. None of this entire election makes me proud of my name Missouri Democrat. But I have to honestly say, this very kind of scenario is present all over the country in similar circumstances and it is exactly why I left politics for the real world 20 years ago.

This is indeed a registered PAC belonging to Ernie Shearer and Gary Jennings. Didn't Gary get a job with Ballard?

Good on you for excercising your right to free speech, fellows, but let's hope it won't create a raise in everyone's taxes like your last hissy fit did. Thanks so much for that.

"let's hope it won't create a raise in everyone's taxes like your last hissy fit"

Please explain. Do you mean the COIT increase that Bart created? Or the Sales Tax that Mitch created? Or the Property Tax increase that the judicial system mandated, and was further hosed up by incompetence in the various incumbents-run city/township/county/state offices?

I think people somewhat underestimate Carson. I am certainly no fan of his for all the good reasons I don't need to rehash here. But when Jim Shella recently stated that Carson performed well in his recent debate, I had to acknowledge that Carson is wise beyond his years at the game side of politics, if nothing else. I'm baffled my your remarks. You are uninformed or you have been misled.
Hoosier for Honesty in Government
is responsible for the "Vern Brown raised your taxes 65%" signs. The taxes that were already raised, remember? We put the word out so voters would be informed before the municipal election. We didn’t lobby the City of CCC for higher taxes, we were apposed to the higher taxes. We wanted more spending cuts.
After the taxes (COIT) increase we supported paying the Law Enforcement Officers what they were owed. The City (Bart Peterson) was trying to withhold the funds. The Coit increase had provisions in it to pay the officers.
Put the blame where it belongs. Bart Peterson along with the former democrat controlled City Council, Brown, Gray, Bateman, King Ro, Sanders, etc. etc. etc. not us.

To begin with, I am just the treasurer of the PAC. There are several people involved and ALL items are voted on.
I don't always agree with what the rest want to do and I get out-voted. Thats why I reamin silent on so many issues.
André Carson is helping my union with a problem I hope he can solve. I decided to NOT get involved in going against him. I'm remaing publicly neutral on the race for the 7th and my vote will be secret in November!

As far as getting a "job" with Ballard? No! Why would I give up the benefits I have for a political position. I did get appointed to the Citizens Police Complaint Board. A non-paid position with no political power.
I get a parking space in the CCB on Monday nights. Not really a "job" since it is a 2 year appointment.

"Rethink the Possibilities" is the ATT slogan but when it comes to the 2014 7th Congressional Race I would have to say "Where have all the people gone"?

Cat Ping needs your help and needs it NOW!
