Drive-By Prayer Minister's Daughter Murdered

Rev. Malachi Walker has been on the forefront of the Peace In The Streets initiative and conducts neighborhood prayer gatherings in troubled areas of Indianapolis known as Drive By Prayers to discourage youth from taking up crime. Early this morning, his 24-year-old daughter, Chanelle Wells, became the City's latest homicide victim. Someone broke into her home on the City's Far Eastside and shot her multiple times. Police found a handgun, two AK47s and marijuana in her home. Wells leaves behind three children ranging in age from 5 months to 6. She became the 70th homicide victim of the year.

I guess no one is safe if a family dedicated to peace is not.

Bart Lies, I don't think families dedicated to peace keep AK-47s and illegal drugs in their homes.

I feel bad for the family, especially the three kids.

Just some food for thought regarding the ministers that are having all these prayer vigils and such.

In Acts chapter 19 Luke wrote about some "preachers" that were driving out demons. Here's what happened:

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 (One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. (Acts 19:13-16)

As a Christian I hope and pray that the men and women who are calling on God to bring peace to this city are truly men and women of God. Because if not, then we as a city will reap the whirlwind of their deceit, not unlike the seven sons of Sceva.

So I say to all of you "Drive-By" pastors, if you need to, get your life right with God, repent from what you are doing that is wrong, or SHUT UP!

Peace through superior firepower.

One AK-47 is "Mommy's Little Helper" -- two is just wretched excess!

Sometimes successful people forget about their children. Case in point I see Tony Dungy spending a awful lot of time in Indianapolis during the off season and doing kids camps, colts functions and even church speeches. I never see his kids. I would hope they are staying out of the spot light during these interview. Maybe he talks to them on the phone, text and emails them. It still doesn't take the place of a hug or spending time playing games or reading books. He lost his son to a suicide, I just wonder...

Rev. Walker is a man after God's heart. Simply look at the response to the senseless killing of his own daughter. No revenge, no malice - does his and his wife's heart pain? Of course, they're human. But they know that the Lord turns around ALL evil for the good, for the advancement of His purpose in the earth. Chanelle's death was not in vain. I have seen the life that has come forth from it with my own eyes. I will continue to see how the Lord will use her death to push others, specifically her parents, and their ministry to a NEW level.

I still choose to believe that prayer changes things; Walking in resurrection power to see hearts healed, lives changed and hope restored to a hurting Indianapolis - and a hurting world through the Blood of Jesus.
