Ballard Appoints Sanford Fire Chief

Mayor Greg Ballard today announced the appointment of veteran firefighter Brian Sanford as his choice for Chief of the Indianapolis Fire Department. Sanford formerly served as Deputy Chief of IFD’s EMS Division, and until IFD’s most recent consolidation with Warren Township, he served as that township’s Fire Chief. According to a press release from the Mayor's Office, Sanford "emerged as the top choice through a highly competitive process."

Sounds like a good guy! Lawrence is one of the busiest places for a fireman in town. My old neighbor was a fireman up there for years and near the end he never got any rest. Ballard scores again!

I'm not trying to be snarky at all, but I can't help but notice that the photograph of Sanford is *really* good. Click on it to enlarge it and you'll see what I mean; it looks like he hired an actual artist to make it.
