AP Confirms Authenticity Of Barry Soetoro School Record

No Quarter blog has confirmation from the AP that the document posted on the Internet purporting to be a school record of a Jakarta, Indonesian Catholic school for Barry Soetora a/k/a Barack Obama, Jr., is indeed authentic. At a minimum, this creates serious legal ramifications for Obama's law license in Illinois. Records there suggest he disclosed no other name that he has used when he applied for admission to practice law there. In a worse case scenario, it presents an Article II problem for Obama's eligibility to serve as president of the United States. The document says Barry Soetoro was an Indonesian citizen. Some argue that his mother's decision to make him an Indonesian citizen calls into question the "natural born citizen" requirement found in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. The school document also tells us Obama has been lying about his Muslim past. It lists his religion as Islam. What I find particularly troubling is the fact that this document has been available to the mainstream media since January, 2007. The media used this document to prove that reported claims that Obama had attended a fundamentalist Muslim school were false. The media ignored the other obvious issues the document raised. Why?

Gary, why has the RNC or McCain himself not filed a lawsuit to challenge Obama's ability to serve as President? Just curious if you know the answer. Without that happening, I just don't expect the story to go anywhere regardless of its truth. I mean lets face it, this is the stuff the RNC would drool over if it were viable.

You will never see the RNC or McCain put their hands on this. They will leave it to others. I believe the Clinton supporters are trying to force this issue before Obama is nominated in Denver. That is why her supporters are organizing a 50-state challenge if he is nominated. You can see over at No Quarter and Texas Darlin where they are organizing the challenge.

Thanks to the blogs, candidates no longer have to run negative campaigns.

Regular folks will do it for them. Look at how Ballard was helped by bloggers and tax activists last year who helped him keep his hands pristine.

Look at what Hillary's fans are doing for her. On July 9th, Rush Limbaugh predicted she would win the nomination. Maybe he knows something we do not.

I suppose you both maybe right. However, because the RNC and McCain won't even touch it, the truth and ultimate facts must make it smell like a farce. Sorry, I have a hard time jumping on the bandwagon of a bunch of disgruntled HRC supporters that might have had a better fight had they brought it up during the primaries.

It seems like Hillary's top advisor, Mark Penn, wanted to raise this issue at some level but was shot down. I think the Clintons should have spent more time trying to take down Obama early on instead of getting the National Enquirer to go after the Edwards' mistress story, which went nowhere until recently went it couldn't make a difference. The problem here, it seems, is with our process. There should be some formal process for clearing these issues as part of a candidate running for the office of presidency. It is unacceptable that this task is being left to citizen bloggers.

Don't overlook the tremendous backlash that could ensue, especially against a Republican candidate or organization if they were perceived as somehow going after Barack "Barry" Obama.

The very legitimate citizenship question would be completely overshadowed by the cries of racism. You could end up with riots as those with a vested interest in keeping us divided marched the angry into the street to get face time on TV.

Personally, I think if someone legitimately doesn't meet the qualifications they shouldn't be running. But then again, that's never stopped half of Congress from committing an oath to a Constitution they've never read. ;-)

Besides, if you're McCain or the RNC and you have the Clinton's doing the work, let's face it they are the best in the game. Let them do the dirty work. :-)

Obama would not be the first President to have been referred to as another name. Hiram Grant, William Blythe, and Leslie King, Jr. all were Presidents too. We just knew them as Ulysses Grant, Bill Clinton, and Gerald Ford.

The quest by this blog and others continues. Dig up dirt on Obama so that real issues do not have to be discussed. Has this been in the Enquirer yet?

Don't attempt to compare those other presidents, Jon. Bill Clinton's father died, his mother remarried and his step father adopted him. All his parents were U.S. citizens. Gerald Ford was given up for adoption by his U.S. citizen parents as an infant and adopted by U.S. citizen parents. Obama had one U.S. citizen parent and, by all appearances, was adopted by an Indonesian citizen--how else can you explain the name change and school record? Only Obama's adoption and subsequent name change resulted in the acquisition of a foreign citizenship.

Why do you insist on blaming the child for the actions of a parent, AI? Perhaps Senator Obama filled out that paperwork when he was a child, but if he's an elementary-aged child, it probably would have been written in crayon or magic marker.

So what? Cultural conventions in Indonesia dictated that a child held the name and religion of his father, so he was registered in the elementary school in that way. Fortunately, as much as the MSM wants to run controversial stories, it is not alarmist to the point of totally destroying any veneer of objectivity. Much ado about nothing.

So what - what about the Illinois Bar Association & about someone lying about being ever known under a different name. So what - check w/ Bill Clinton about lying as a lawyer, ok?

Bill Clinton perjured himself before a grand jury, under oath, when he was president of the United States, about a matter that had occured within 6 or 7 years prior.

I hardly think that the Illinois Bar was concerned with how Obama was registered in school when he was six. He did not fill out the application, and was likely never 'known' by anyone as Barry Soetoro. The two sitaions are hardly analogous. This in sensationalist garbage.
