High Profile Sex Charge Arrests

Tucked away in the Star's Metro & State section today is a report by Whitney Smith of two high profile individuals, one from Indianapolis and one from Atlanta, being arrested for having sex in a public restroom at Atlanta's airport. Nabbed in the arrest was Indianapolis' Michael Pettry, who is managing director of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, and Edmond J. Wall, who the chairman of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. The pair's attorneys deny the public indecency charge they received after an undercover officer claimed to witness the two having sex in a restaurant bathroom. This arrest contrasts with similar busts at parks and other public places here in Indiana where undercover cops are actually used as lures to entice would-be offenders into sex acts. In this case, the cop was a mere bystander reporting what he observed.

The article is very poorly-written. It insinuates that Pettry was not charged, but released.

Yet another Star botched story.

Can someone get it correct? Or are the editors playing fast and fancy with the delete button again?

Funny you don't see many arrests of straight folks who always posting up their "mile high" conquests on the Internet. No air marshals to see what's going on? Or do they just ignore it because it involves a straight couple.

Show me the complaints and I will likely be able to show you arrests. If you think that undercover cops just pick some random restroom, you are mistaken. The only reason for the undercover operation is due to constant complaints by other citizens. If there were no complaints, there would be no arrests.

I was IN Atlanta and had heard the story about a man flying in from Indianapolis and had to laugh. Good old Indy, I can't escape this place sometimes.

Indiana has a reputation as a state of perverts - might have something to do with some guy named Kinsey.

I know that if I encountered anyone having sex in a restroom or any other public place, I would narc on them.
