Barrett Slapped By Supporter Upset That He Conceded Recall Election
A campaign supporter of Mayor Tom Barrett can be seen slapping him across the face shortly after he conceded the Wisconsin recall election to Gov. Scott Walker. Apparently the supporter thought his early concession discouraged late voters from casting their votes, notwithstanding the fact that the polls had already closed. Those were probably the voters bused up from Chicago to take advantage of Wisconsin's absurd voter registration law that allows persons to register to vote at the polling places on the same day as the election. Last year we learned that a Fort Wayne Democratic activist journeyed up to Wisconsin where he registered to vote and cast a vote in the state's hotly-contested Supreme Court race at the same time he was running for a city council seat in the Fort Wayne municipal election.
