Tallian Drops Democratic Gubernatorial Bid
State Sen. Karen Tallian has dropped her bid for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2016, leaving just former House Speaker John Gregg as the lone Democratic candidate at this point. Tallian made the decision after the AFL-CIO endorsed Gregg's candidacy today. Gregg also picked up the support of the United Steelworkers over the weekend. Tallian had raised very little money for her bid and without any key labor support, her candidacy faced great odds. State Education Supt. Glenda Ritz dropped her gubernatorial bid a little more than a week ago after she decided to run for re-election instead. Former Evan Bayh aide, Tom Sugar, is still pondering whether to enter the race.
