Hogsett Wants More Streetlights, Herb Simon Wants And Will Get A New Practice Facility For The Pacers

One of the things that surprised me soon after I moved to Indianapolis was that if residential neighborhoods in this city wanted streetlights, they had to collect money through a neighborhood association to install them and pay for their upkeep. The sky is the limit when it comes to meeting the many demands for improving downtown, but residential neighborhoods are pretty much on their own as far as the downtown power brokers are concerned. I think Hogsett hits on an issue in his latest in a string of TV ads that probably resonates with a lot of neighborhood activists. He says he's going to reverse a decades-old policy and start spending money on neighborhood street lights if he's elected mayor.

Meanwhile, billionaire Herb Simon is demanding and the CIB has already secretly agreed to build for him a new practice facility and offices for his Indiana Pacers on Delaware Street across from Banker's Life Fieldhouse for an untold sum just because the greedy bastard owns our elected officials and can get them to spend our taxpayer dollars however he wants so he can keep his billions to spend on his trophy wife and other objects of the life a dirty old rich man like him leads. There is no public process to these matters. When it's finally leaked to the public, it's always a done deal. Life in Indianapolis. The Simons own Joe Hogsett just like they own Evan Bayh, in case you didn't know, but it always sounds good to pretend to relate to the little people. Check who is bankrolling his campaign if you doubt me.

Wasn't it a Simon who donated that Georgetown Road killing place to Planned Parenthood? I know that Black Lives Don't Matter to wealthy sorts but you'd think that Indianapolis would be less kind to genocide types who assist in the extermination of Blacks.

Can anyone tell me why we allow the CIB to exist?

Does the CIB get a paycheck? if the answer is yes, how much does a board member make?
How is a member of the CIB chosen? How long is a term on the Board?
Most of the answers in this blog are it's the usual suspects! All connected with Law firms downtown!

CIB members are not paid a salary. They get free tickets to all of the sporting events and concerts and free drink and food served in the suite. The only people appointed to the CIB are people who are a part of the downtown mafia. The current chairman is Earl Goode, a Mitch Daniels crony. Other members include Bose McKinney lobbyist Doug Brown, Goldsmith crony David Shane, Jay Potesta of the United Steelworkers Union, who actually lives in Washington, D.C., IURC Commissioner Carolene Mays, attorney Milt Thompson, General Hotels owner Jim Dora, City-County Council President Maggie Lewis, who works for Indiana Grand Casino, and Brenda Myers of the Hamilton Co. Convention & Visitors Bureau, who is appointed by the counties which contribute taxes to the CIB's Lucas Oil Stadium. Visit Indy's Leonard Hoops is an ex-officio member. If you've ever watched their meetings, you can quickly tell that any important item on the agenda was already discussed behind closed doors in violation of the Open Door Law. Their meetings never last very long because there's never any discussions or questions asked by the rubber stamp board. Nobody who would represent taxpayers before the billionaire sports team owners and the downtown business interests which financially benefit from the racket has ever been appointed to sit on the board.

Evan Bayh is no surprise a Hillary supporter. From the Star June 22, 2015: >>> The 2 p.m. fundraiser is being held at the Carmel home of Cindy Simon Skjodt, daughter of the late shopping mall tycoon Melvin Simon. A minimum donation of $2,700 is required. More than 100 people are expected to attend.

The event is closed to the public and the media.

The fundraiser was organized with help from former Indiana Gov. Evan Bayh, a longtime friend of the Clintons. He recently coordinated an Indiana fund-raising finance committee meeting for Clinton's presidential campaign. <<<

Not much of a challenge to this jig saw puzzle Bayh,Gold$mith,Peter$on,Ballard and Hog$ett are all part of the Republicrat Party. Simon says show me the money and politicians trip over themselves shoveling the tax dollars collected form the 99% into the pockets of Billionaires.

These people remind me of King Midas. They have a very good gig, but they're too stupid to understand that they're killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. You cannot neglect the rest of the city to prop up downtown for the sole purpose of enriching yourself. That doesn't work and these guys aren't smart enough to understand that. The explosion of crime is the canary in the coal mine. Imagine Indy the day after a currency event when the EBT and SNAP cards don't work. You might have a chance in Boise or Minneapolis. Here? It's going to be a free for all. On that day, I'll chuckle at the downtown mafia as it slowly dawns on them that they're on a little island, surrounded by the seething masses they stole from for decades. I sure hope it's on TV.
