Daniels Names Loretta Rush To Supreme Court

Gov. Mitch Daniels has chosen Tippecanoe Co. Superior Court Judge Loretta Rush as his latest appointee to the Indiana Supreme Court to replace Justice Frank Sullivan, Jr. Rush becomes Daniels' third appointee to the high court and represents his first female appointment to the bench. Daniels chose Rush over Hamilton Co. Superior Court Judge Steven Nation and Indianapolis attorney Geoffrey Slaughter. Daniels previously appointed Steven David and Mark Massa to the high court. Rush will become the second woman to serve on the state's Supreme Court. Myra Selby, who was appointed by former Gov. Evan Bayh, was the first female justice.
