Nearly 14 Million Expected To Lose Their Current Health Insurance Because Of Obamacare

How many times did President Barack Obama stand before the American people and assure them that his health care plan would not affect people already covered under a health insurance plan? It now turns out that the Obama administration knew that the Affordable Care Act would cause millions of Americans to lose their existing health insurance coverage. At least half of those who purchase individual health care plans are expected to lose their insurance. More than 11 million Americans have already received notices from their insurers that their current health insurance plans are being terminated and the number will grow to at least 14 million. Many of the plans are being cancelled because they don't satisfy the mandated coverage provisions of the law. This is forcing people to turn to the health care exchanges under the ACA for new coverage. Not surprisingly, the rates available on the exchange are almost always much higher than current premium rates. The perverseness of the law will actually provide an incentive to Americans to find a way to reduce their income so that they qualify for subsidies to pay for their premiums, which are provided to those earning up to 400% of the poverty level.

Just like "Cash for Clunkers" where the government started a program to get people out of their paid-off economical cars and back into car loans.

Obamacare is a Republican plan to get people out of cheaper insurance and into very expensive insurance, shifting trillions to Republican insurance companies.

Remember, if the Republicans would have said "we're fine with national health insurance, but it has to be single-payer" the Democrats would have jumped for joy. Republicans are the ones who ensured that the private sector was going to be handsomely paid for being a needless health care middleman.

All this opposition to Obamacare is a Republican farce to have it both ways. They want their insurance friends to get rich, but they also want to keep hoodwinking their voters.

After all, Obamacare is the 1993 Republican response to Hillarycare.

Question to the above Anonymous?

This is a tough question, how many Republican Senators, and Congressmen voted for Obamacare?

How many Democrats voted for the plan?

do ya all remember it was voted on December,24 2009 around 10PM. by the Senate.

Voted on March 21, 2010 in Congress.
Signed into Law March 23, 2010 by President Obama.

Boy was I wrong!
Here all this time I thought Obamacare was a program RAMMED through a democrat house and a democrat senate by a democrat president!
I should have known it was Bush's fault!

Per Bernie Sanders Senator from VT:

Congressman Jim McDermott and I have introduced the American Health Security Act. Our bill will provide every American with healthcare coverage and services through a state-administered, single-payer program, including dental and mental health coverage and low-cost prescription drugs. It would require the government to develop national policies and guidelines, as well as minimum national criteria, while giving each state the flexibility to adapt the program as needed. It would also completely overhaul the health coverage system, creating a single federal payer of state-administered health plans.

6:21,

Don't put much faith into official votes. This is politics. If the vote would have been in jeopardy, you would have seen enough crossovers to get it passed.

There are some Republicans who truly hate Obamacare, but the people who own the Republican Party like the plan. FoxNews exists to conceal the Republicans' true nature.

Flogger,

Bernie's plan would actually be cheaper and more well received by the public.
