Bayh Wants To Get Tough On Iran

Returning from a fact-finding trip to the Middle East, Sen. Evan Bayh appeared this morning on Fox & Friends to announce that he will introduce a resolution in the Senate tomorrow to get tough on Iran. Bayh's resolution will call for economic and cultural sanctions against Iran, as well as a cut-off of all arm sales to the country.

Bayh specifically wants to prevent Iran from purchasing refined oil. A major oil exporting country, Iran ironically has little domestic refining capacity and must import most of its gasoline.

Bayh believes the steps he is proposing in his resolution are necessary to head off military intervention to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
