Franklin Native Austin Armacost Has Meltdown On Britain's Celebrity Big Brother

Big Brother Day 25
Internet traffic to Advance Indiana exploded over the past 24 hours so we checked the good ole Sitemeter application to see what was driving the traffic to the blog. Hits from Great Britain were off the charts searching old posts about Franklin, Indiana's pseudo celebrity/ reality TV cast member, Austin Armacost. Ugh!

Viewers of Celebrity Big Brother across the pond were apparently checking out old posts about the arrest and prosecution of Austin's mother, Karen, who is currently serving a 6-year prison sentence for embezzling over $680,000 from her former employer. Prosecutors alleged Austin's mother used some of the money she stole from her former employer to pay off her sons' credit card debts, including those belonging to Austin, although he claimed he had no idea she had paid debts owed on his credit cards. Interest in Austin's background piqued when he had an on-air meltdown in which he talked about having to "bury his brother" and "send his mother to prison."

These network executives know what happens when you put a group of self-indulgent, narcissistic and self-destructive people under one roof and put a camera on them 24x7 for the TV-viewing public's entertainment: dysfunction on steroids. Reality TV shows are relatively inexpensive to produce when you rely on has-been celebrities and wannabes who thrive on being in the public spotlight regardless of whether they have anything of value to contribute to the betterment of humanity. The cast members earn a few hundred thousand dollars for a few weeks' work putting on a live freak show that earns them no respectability in the minds of normal, breathing human beings.

Viewers of CBS's Celebrity Big Brother, which is being filmed in London, features pseudo celebrities from America and Great Britain competing to benefit their favorite charity. They compete in silly competitions and then nominate cast members for eviction from the losing team until they have a winner. How any respectable charity can accept money attained through such means is an entirely different subject. Armacost, is known mostly for being a former rent boy for fashion designer Marc Jacobs and a short run on the misnamed reality show, The A-List.

Armacost, who is gay and married, quickly become one of the show's favorites because he's not shy about baring it all and partly because of a bromance that developed between him and another house mate, the Apprentice's James Hill, who is supposedly straight. The two mates have shared a bed sans clothing and are constantly fawning over each other's mostly-naked bodies to the delight of the show's viewers, including Armacost's British husband. The F-bomb and name-calling seem to be daily rituals at the house based on highlights of the show uploaded to YouTube, but things took a nasty turn when Hill blindsided Armacost by nominating him for eviction this week.

His friendship with Hill being tested, Armacost accused him of lacking any balls and being brainwashed by one of his fellow American mates, washed-up super model Janice Dickinson, who received a warning in an earlier episode after she spat on Austin during an earlier row with him. But Austin saved his worst epitaphs for Dickinson, whom he referred to by the four-letter word beginning with "c" and described  as "a terrible example of a woman and a mother" whose "children would be so embarrassed." "You're f_ _ _ing the worst excuse for a woman ever." His petty insults against Dickinson continued to escalate. "What an embarrassment to society, [you] run around with your tits out and you’re spreading your legs." "“You’re just such a nasty excuse for a woman… miserable… who has to pop from reality show to reality show like you do to f_ _ _ing get a pay check. Get a job, learn a trade, get some education, you stupid f_ _ _ing bitch.” Pot calling the kettle black?

So when he realized his tirade against Dickinson had turned the entire house against him, the tears started rolling. His problem wasn't with his housemates; it was problems at home with his Franklin family. "I had to bury my brother and then send my mom to prison," the 27-year old man cried out. His self-destructive family was to blame for his meltdown he reasoned. Yep, throw the family back home under the bus. Well, the crocodile tears worked. His house mates decided to evict his leading nemesis, Dickinson, and former porn star Jenna Jameson, instead of the foul-mouthed boy from Franklin. Austin and  his "straight" mate James quickly made up and hopped back in bed and cuddled up together after putting on an erotic shower show for their viewers' more prurient side. And Dickinson said she harbored no ill feelings towards Austin. After all, it's all just entertainment. So inspiring.

Ex-Reality Star's Mom Gets Six Years For Theft, Son Wants Gay Marriage Equality

Austin Armacost with his husband Jake Lees
Franklin, Indiana's Karen Armacost, the mother of former reality TV star Austin Armacost, was sentenced to six years today for stealing $681,000 from her former employer. According to Marion Co. Prosecutor Terry Curry, Armacost used some of the money to pay credit card bills in the names of her sons. Austin, who was on the short-lived reality show the A-List, told investigators that he had no idea how his mother paid for his credit card bills. Austin's Twitter account this week contained several admonishments to Sen. Dan Coats and Gov. Mike Pence for their opposition to gay marriage equality but nothing about his mother's nine-year prison sentence: "My beautiful husband & I, together 5+ years... Do we deserve equality . . . I am a gay Hoosier happily married to a British man +5 years who has no right to come to America... Do you not support us?" Austin posted photos of him and his husband, Jake Lees, an English citizen. Austin laments that U.S. immigration laws don't permit him to sponsor Lees for an immigrant visa, a right afforded to straight married couples.  "Gov. Pence does Not support gays & lesbians," he tweeted. "While every state is moving forward, he is supporting BIGOTRY/InEquality in IN!"

UPDATE: Did anyone catch the fact that Armacost received a stiffer sentence than Shamus Patton, the guy who shot 9 people at Black Expo in 2010 and got released early and re-arrested this week after a high-speed chase with police?

Exhibitionist Ex-Reality Star Says He Had No Idea Where Mother Got Money To Pay His Credit Card Bills

Karen Armacost of Franklin has admitted to stealing more than $680,000 from her former employer, Greenwood Orthopaedics, after the Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged her with theft, forgery and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud. That last charge was what led her employer to uncover her crime spree that began in 2007. Armacost was caught forging a doctor's name to a prescription for Vicodin. According to the probable cause affidavit, Armacost used more than $400,000 of the money she stole from her former employer to pay credit card bills issued in the name of her sons, including Austin Armacost, the exhibitionist former ex-reality TV star from the A-List. Austin told investigators he had know idea how his mother was paying his credit card bills.

Austin had his 15 seconds of fame when he briefly starred in the reality show, A-List, a Real Housewives-styled show that followed the lives of gay and bisexual couples that aired on the Logo channel. Armacost briefly dated American fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Austin, who almost stripped down for a Playgirl photo spread as a big tease for the A-List and who posed naked to support the animal rights group, PETA, candidly refers to himself and other family members as exhibitionists. This is how he described his family's exhibitionist ways in an interview last November with NewNowNext:

Every time my mom walks in on me naked in the shower. This might sound crazy, but I like when my family sees me naked. Now, it’s not incestuous, but we’re very free. We’re all very free. At any one time in my living room, my dad might be in the jacuzzi naked out back, my mom might be powdering her tits, and I might be shitting with the door open. So we’re all very free, open people. Very exhibitionist in my home. Now, I don’t know what constitutes a “nudist,” but we probably fit that to a T. Though we’re not a cult or anything.”
Nice. Thanks for sharing, Austin.

Austin seemed to take his mother's guilty plea in stride. A short time after she entered her guilty plea, he took to his Twitter page to post, "Whose [sic] going to indypride next weekend?" He later commented, "A Louboutin is not an ashtray!"

Pseudo Celebrity Austin Armacost Extends His Fifteen Minutes Of Fame Thanks To CBS

Franklin, Indiana's most flamboyant and outspoken gay native, Austin Armacost, has managed to extend his fifteen minutes of fame after landing a role as one of the twelve housemates selected for CBS' latest Celebrity Big Brother UK series with a UK v USA theme. The series' introductory show this week fittingly introduced the group of fame-seekers as they emerged through the Illuminati's favorite symbol, the all-seeing eye. Armacost got booed during the opening show when he slammed the UK for having "shit customer service" and said he hopes he'll be able to "wank in the house" since masturbating is his favorite thing to do.

Armacost first gained fame for being one of a long line of rent boys kept from time to time by New York fashion designer Marc Jacobs before getting kicked to the curb. He had a brief run on the reality show A-List New York and has been spending most of his time jumping back and forth across the pond with his British husband, posting almost as many selfies and nudes of himself on the Internet as Justin Bieber or Kim Kartrashian. Armacost didn't miss a heartbeat in promoting gay marriage equality in frequent Twitter rants when his mother, Karen, got sent to prison for nine years a couple of years back for stealing over $680,000 from her employer, in part, to support her son's high-flying lifestyle.

The six housemates representing America, in addition to Armacost, includes a solid line-up of Kartrashian wannabes, including ex-porn star Jenna Jameson, reality TV star best known for her sex tape, Farrah Abraham, the least known Baldwin brother, David, hip hop promoter Fatman Scoop and bisexual reality TV star Tila Tequila. The line-up is as bad as when the Surreal Life celebrity reality show paired up ex-porn star Ron Jeremy, disgraced televangelist Tammy Faye Baker and has-been rapper Vanilla Ice. So how much more time do we have before God decides the clock runs out on us?
