Indiana GOP Looking For Trifecta In Congressional Races

Republicans have already captured Indiana's 8th and 9th congressional district races with big wins for Larry Buschon in the 8th over Trent VanHaaften and Republican Todd Young over U.S. Rep. Baron Hill (D). Republican Jackie Walorski is running slightly behind U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly (D) in the 2nd District. Looks like a big Republican wave in national congressional races this year. Libertarian Mark Vogel is capturing 5% of the vote in the 2nd District and could play the spoiler, narrowly denying Walorski a win over Donnelly.

UPDATE: The Libertarian's share of the vote in the 2nd District was enough to deprive Jackie Walorski of a win over Donnelly. Indiana Republicans will have to settle for 2 out 3, which isn't bad in a year when it looks like Republicans will gain control of the U.S. House of Representatives with a pick-up of at least 60 seats this year.

Once I learned that Baron Hill brought Rahm Israel Emanuel to Indiana, to campaign for him, I knew he was finished, even though he is one of the top three members of the Indiana delegation in the House of Representatives, receiving campaign contributions from the Israel lobbies. Viewing the Republican sweep state-wide, I am now wondering if even Evan Bayh (one of the very top Senator receivers of campaign money from the Israel lobbies) has a chance to again gain the governorship come 2012.
