Tully Thinks Understanding U.S. Constitution Is Goofy

Well, it looks like I can count on Star political columnist Matt Tully to keep up his string of useless meanderings, which just magically pop out of his head and require no research about 30 minutes before his editor's deadline, an indication of how much time he spends writing each of his columns. Tully picks up on the meme from Democrats and the mainstream media that it's just a bunch of Bible-totin, gun-clutching angry white extremists who are disrupting town hall meetings across America.

As this blog has pointed out, in a recent column Tully took aim at U.S. Rep. Dan Burton for co-sponsoring legislation that would require a presidential candidate to prove he satisfied the constitutional requirements to serve as President of the United States--be at least 35 years of age and be a natural born citizen. Tully has never read, let alone studied what the term "natural born" means within the context of the U.S. Constitution. Again, the meme in the mainstream media is simply to misrepresent what the issue involves and attack anyone who suggests that a fair, though debatable, interpretation of its original intent, means that a person must be born of U.S. citizen parents in order to be considered a natural born; dual citizens at birth, like Obama, are not ineligible to hold the office of President of the United States. Instead of doing a little research and figuring out the mistake Tully previously made as a result of his wilfull gnorance of the U.S. Constitution, he revisits it again in his column today entitled, "Intead of Yelling, Let's Just Talk" and offers this snarky comment:

One local blogger, for instance, could fill a book (though not a very good one) with his many entries railing on the goofy presidential birth certificate issue.
I have performed countless hours of legal research in my spare time and devoted many posts over the past year trying to inform the readers of this blog what the real issue is about so people can understand what Tully wants to reduce to "goofy presidential birth certificate." People approach me on the street and e-mail me constantly thanking me for better informing me on this issue so they understand what's its all about. They are angry at guys like Tully in the mainstream media who only mention it in the most derisive way without putting context to it or making any effort to explain the issue.

Tully may think the issues that are stirring up folks across this country are meaningless and that "everyone needs to relax" and that they should "stop worrying," but he's completely out of touch as usual. In case he hasn't noticed it, his livelihood working for a major daily newspaper is approaching an end. There's a reason people are turning away from their daily newspaper as a source of information, and he's Exhibit A.

Remember, Tully looks at everything from the leftist point of view. They never even CONSIDER anything else.

He doesn't look at things from the Left. He thinks about the insiders who he wants to like him, he talks to them, gets a sense of where they are on something, and then simply spouts a view that will meet with their acceptance. That's why he'll never be a great political reporter. Great political reporters are despised by politicians of all stripes at the same time they are feared and respected by those same politicians.
