Randy Quaid was one of my favorite comedic actors before something really bad went wrong, and he found himself running across the border to Canada to escape American legal authorities. The last I heard his claim for asylum in Canada was turned down. His wife has been deemed to be a Canadian citizen, but immigration authorities turned down his petition for permanent resident status. He and his wife produced a low-budget documentary, "Star Whackers", in which they claim a Hollywood conspiracy behind destroying actors' careers and the untimely deaths of others.
