Game Called After Brawl Between Hammond And Griffith High School Basketball Teams

This is what happened when a Griffith High School basketball player got fouled by a Hammond team player while trying to dunk the ball.

UPDATE: The IHSAA came hard down on both teams--a season ending penalty.

...looks like just like the Pacers did in Detroit a few years ago!

I guess Lake County is emulating The Pacers. Wouldn't the Pacers find it a more appropriate setting if they moved to Gary?

Apparently the high schools there would love that kind of role-model.

It's not a defense or justification for a brawl, but that foul was pretty flagrant.

I thought it looked like the fouled player was exaggerating it like most players have become good at doing.

gees, in the 60's we had the common decency to hold the fight, usually pre-scheduled, after the game...

This is becoming an everyday routine for a lot of US schools. It bodes well for the future.
