Pence Hires Chicago Media Firm For Campaign

Democratic Attorney General candidate Linda Pence bashed Attorney General Steve Carter for hiring an outside counsel with experience fighting public corruption in Chicago and Illinois to pursue a civil RICO case against corrupt Lake County pols. It turns out that her own campaign has hired a Chicago-based media firm with strong ties to the Chicago political machine to work on behalf of her Indiana campaign, shunning Indiana-based firms. According to the Indiana Legislative Insight, Pence has retained Adelstein Liston to do her campaign's media work. The Chicago firm has also done media work for Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan (D-Chicago), the Democratic Party of Illinois, the Chicago City Council, Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulis, according to the firm's website. In the case of Alexi Giannoulis, House Speaker Madigan and others raised questions about his ties to organized crime when he ran for state office in 2006.
