Orentlicher Announces Congressional Run Against Buschon
Long-time Indianapolis resident David Orentlicher plans to seek the Democratic nomination in the 8th congressional district race next year for the right to run against incumbent Rep. Larry Buschon (R-Evansville). Orentlicher, who teaches medicine and law at IU's medical and law schools in Indianapolis, says he plans to move to Terre Haute, which is located within the southwestern Indiana congressional district. Orentlicher lost a caucus election and then a primary election in 2008 to U.S. Rep. Andre Carson in Indiana's 7th District. He gave up his seat in the Indiana House, which is now held by State Rep. Ed DeLaney. Speaking of DeLaney, what's up DeLaney's son, Tim, taking a pass on running for Scott Schneider's Senate seat next year?

This IS bizarre. I'd be surprised if a Dem WITHIN the district doesn't run against the Prof in the primary.
Perhaps Tim has his eyes on a judicial seat. The Dems have a couple of retirements coming within the next few years.
Delaney is having some issues...maybe ask his parents why he wanted to move back in with them but they said no. Who on the R side is running for SD30? John Rucklehaus seems to want it fairly bad and im hearing about some lady in Fishers.
Very bizarre. Orentlicher doesn't seem to be a good cultural fit for Terre Haute.
Or anywhere in Indiana outside of Lockerbie or Kirkwood Avenue.
He looks like Seinfeld.
