Hogsett Now Running As Anti-Establishment, Outsider Candidate

The consummate political insider, Joe Hogsett, has a new message for Indianapolis voters. He's promising to "refuse the perks and gifts" that seem to come with the office--an apparent reference to Advance Indiana's exclusive reporting about how Mayor Greg Ballard accepted memberships in private country clubs worth tens of thousands of dollars, in addition to free tickets to sporting events and concerts. "I won't change the car I drive to work in," he says. Indianapolis' mayor is provided with 24x7 security, which includes a city-furnished car driven by the mayor's security detail. "And I'll take on the downtown insiders who cheat the system and steal your tax dollars," he declares, borrowing our own campaign slogan. He tells us he's "never forgotten where I come from." I can only hope he's being honest about his intentions, but call me skeptical if I can't see him biting the hand that has fed him so well over the past three decades.

Another liberal Democrat made far better well-off financially with income, pension, and work related benefits the taxpayers who paid that salary and bennies will never enjoy wants us to buy into the oft-repeated politician’s lie that “he’ll remember where he came from” with the implication (“lie?”) being that he has always been and will always be one of us “little people”. Uh, right.

For hick Mayor Greg Ballard, whom I believe possesses a deeply seated inferiority complex coupled with his authoritarian dictatorial persona, country club memberships and sports’ team owner boxes had to be all “brand new” and exciting. For career liberal Democrat insider Joe Hogsett, who now appears to be Indy’s version of “Hillary Rodham Clinton” because he’s re-invented himself almost as much as the aged always running for something Grandma Hillary Clinton has rebranded and re-sold her image, the money perks of politics is old hat. Joe’s been around a long, long time. But like flying hundreds of thousands of miles on a plane is an “activity” and not an “accomplishment”, so it being around a long time a “state” rather than “a list of actual (or honest) achievements”.

Who gives a rat’s @ss what kind of car Lying Joe Hogsett drives or in what kind of house he lives? That is nothing but political posturing with zero substance… and it’s phony as well. One of these days Indy will be graced by a candidate without a phony “teen jobs program” and a phony “I won’t sell all the City assets the City County Council helped Kyle Walker’s corrupt Republican Greg Ballard sell out from under you”, and all the other phony City development “initiatives” [often bringing wealth to the politically connected cronies] that are not the proper role of municipal government.

One of these days Indianapolis will be graced to have a true public servant in the Mayor’s seat and that person’s name is The Honorable Christine Scales.

There are lots of honorable public servants. I liked the latest Joe Hogsett ad. It continues the story of what happened after his father’s accident. And it provides some context to his political ambitions. I like the fact that he won’t leap at the chance to be chauffeur driven and that he wants to take on the downtown insiders who steal our tax dollars. That’s a bold claim and one that resonates with me. I’m not skeptical. He’s made good choices. And I think calling him the consummate political insider is off the mark. I don’t think Joe Hogsett feels like he’s an insider at all. I'll be proud to cast my vote for him. Trolls like anon 2.21 bash everyone and help no one. He hates the Republicans and he hates the Democrats. The only one he claims to like is Christine Scales. But Christine Scales isn't running for Mayor. This race is between Joe Hogsett and whoever the Republicans decide to put up. I voted for Ballard. But that was the biggest mistake I ever made.

Anon 3:11 Voting for Ballard will soon be the second biggest mistake you ever made. I can't believe you're actually falling for Hogsett's line. The guy isn't even a very good liar, but apparently he's good enough to fool you and all the other Hoosiers who still believe their vote matters. That's funny if you think about it. Yeah, your vote matters. Sure it does. Keep telling yourself that. Whatever gets you through the night. Oh, and by the way, the fact that some of us are capable of thinking and understand just how inherently evil the current co-opted system is does not make us trolls. And it doesn't make you the psuedo-intellectual you so desperately want us to believe you are, either.

remember folks, unless you live in Christina Scales District, don't vote this year - heck, don't even register...

Hogsett dishes out so much B.S. I am headed for some boots I can wear in the cow barn at the State Fair!

Whoever wins this race need only remember one simple thing; raising taxes is always the answer. It is the only answer.

I've known Joe practically my whole life - we grew up together in Rushville. I love Joe on a personal level, but don't for one minute think that he isn't slick and after the power.
