Daley Bodyguard Captures Escaped Indiana Inmate

The story of three inmates at Indiana's high security Michigan City prison escaping over the weekend already made for interesting headlines. Now we learn this morning that a bodyguard to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley captured one of the escapees near the Mayor's vacation home in Grand Beach, Michigan. The captured inmate, Charles Smith of New Castle, was serving a 99-year sentence for murder. Smith and two other inmates escaped from the high security prison through underground tunnels and pipe chases. This story is rapidly becoming a major embarrassment for the Indiana Department of Corrections.
