Is The Fox Guarding The Hen House?

If you want a job or an appointment to a board or commission in the Ballard administration, you will have to submit your application to Ice Miller's managing partner, Melissa Proffit Reece, who is the person on Ballard's transition team in charge of personnel. A candidate for a job must disclose their social security number, highly confidential information about their current and past employment, including the amount they were paid and why they left a former job. Have an interest in a business? You'll need to disclose it as well.

Hoosiers For Fair Taxation believes potential candidates are reluctant to apply for a job in the new administration knowing their most confidential information will fall into the hands of Ice Miller. The public interest blog notes the irony of Ice Miller's role in Ballard's transition team given its involvement in so many decisions of the Peterson administration, several of which sparked public anger. It's no secret the law firm raised tens of thousands of dollars for Mayor Peterson's re-election bid. "We are wondering if Ice Miller would let anyone near Greg Ballard that will work hard and passionately to provide transparency and accountability of exactly how the city spends its money and who gets what contracts," the blog rhetorically asks.

Looks as if Ballard is setting himself up for failure by allowing Ice-Miller to pick his staff for him.
All of Petersons people will be left in tact and qualified people will be left behind.

I suppose Ike won't be getting that Deputy Mayor position after all.

I believe this is just the begining of what is going to be a diaster of a Ballard administration. He has no idea what to do and he is going to get roped into all types of unprofessional and self serving situations.

Congressman Pence congratulated Ike the other day on Garrison's radio show for his new policy position in the Ballard administration.

Honestly people, were any of you really surprised?
The next announcement will be that Bose Public Affairs will be appointed as lobbyists for Ballard.

This is how Indianapolis has governed itself since Lugar and the inception of Unigov.

Doesn't Ballard understand the meaning of change? If we wanted four more years of Bart Peterson, we would have re-elected him. I know a couple of people who have been joking about being on Ballard's transition team who didn't even know who he was, let alone vote for him. You must feel like a real loser, Gary, for even bothering to help Ballard out.

I was a strong supporter, and did give money. I am now really concerned that all of it was for nothing. At least I thought I knew the devil. Now I don't know.

Mike "The Triple Chin" McDaniels said on Indiana Week In Review he was privy to all the top appointees in the Ballard administration and that people would be impressed with the team he is putting together. Coming from him, it doesn't inspire much confidence for me. Wasn't he another one of the those GOP lobbyists working for a law firm that put a lot of money into Peterson's re-election?

Fat Bastard McDaniels was also promoting Carl "Do Nothing" Brizzi for Congress over Jon Elrod.

Whether pushing Ice attorney, Randall Pollard, for Julia's seat as a "compromise" candidate or getting their folks planted inside Ballard's inner circle you have the admire the Ice's ingenuity and sheer cleverness in protcting its interest.

"Randall Pollard" = (Equals) Compromise, and he has no shame about himself.

Has anyone ever noticed him over the past few years sitting at most city-county meetings and hearings. Just sitting in the audience doing nothing, like a goof-ball, just watching? Nice arrangement, great experience--he has "learned" from observing his leaders, over and over and over. Yes, learning from his LEADERS Monroe Gray, Aaron Haith, & Ron Gibson on how to conduct business for the City of Indianapolis.

I hear the song by Bill Withers playing, "Use Me" until you use me up!

Doesn't anyone understand the true meaning of background check?

What an absolutely stupid thing to criticize someone about. How dare someone show interest in what's happening in local government!

If anyone understands the meaning of background check, then Ike Randolph will have no part in this administration. Ballard is so naive and being suckered that I think he will give Ike a high profile position and then the info from the backgroung check will come forward. I wonder if this will be his first embarrassment of his new administration.

How did Susan" John Dillon's ?" get on the Ballard Transition Team? She never took any action as U.S.Attorney without the o.k. from Bart Peterson and especially John Dillon? Susan Brooks is also a closet racist and has no respect for Gay Rights. I have heard it said that she was rewarded with the IV Tect. Legal Job because of her efforts in protecting certain inner city gaming houses and the polticans on their payroll. Ballard needs to Get a Clue!

Susan Brooks' husband, David Brooks, showed up at the Muncie recount hearings brandishing a side arm. Anyone know why he carries a handgun with him everywhere he goes?

RESPONSE: Ever wonder who is paying for this lobbying and how much?
