Wife Of Indiana Court Of Appeals Judge Charged With Obstruction Of Justice And False Reporting

Court of Appeals Judge Ted Najam
The wife of Indiana Court of Appeals Judge Edward "Ted" Najam wanted her son-in-law held responsible so badly for their daughter's heroin addiction that she tried to frame him for crimes she committed according to charges filed against her yesterday by the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office. WBIW is reporting that Beverly Star Cochran, the 53-year old wife of Najam, has been charged with separate felony charges for obstruction of justice and false reporting.

According to police, Cochran admitted purchasing a cell phone from Walmart that she used to send threatening messages to Judge Najam, which she wanted police to believe were sent by her son-in-law. She is also accused of carving the words "die judge" into the front door of their Bloomington home. Cochran allegedly told police she believed her husband was going to shoot and kill her son-in-law and then turn himself into the police. Judge Najam told police according to WBIW that he never planned to kill his son-in-law and had no idea his wife was behind the threats. "He did admit about talking to her about protecting his family 'by any means necessary' but only in self defense," WBIW reported.

Wow! Is the whole world going crazy? You just can't make this stuff up.
