Claim: Harry Reid's New Year's Injuries Inflicted During Fight With Brother
Many have questioned the circumstances under which Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) arrived at a Las Vegas hospital on New Year's Day to be treated for serious injuries, including broken bones on his face and around his eye, which he claimed he sustained after a piece of workout equipment he was using broke, causing him to fall into a cabinet. The Powerline blog is reporting that a man attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Henderson, Nevada on New Year's Eve who went by the name "Larry" entered the room in an intoxicated condition with blood on his clothing and told attendees of the group session he had been involved in a fight with another family member at a family get-together. The man told the attendees he feared the Secret Service would be coming after him. The attendee, Easton Elliott, didn't think much of it until he saw images of Larry Reid weeks later following his arrest for drunk driving and assaulting a police officer. Easton claims Sen. Reid's home is not far from the location of where the AA meeting was held. Elliott said he contacted other attendees of the AA meeting and they also recognized the Larry who was present for the AA meeting as the same man shown in news reports regarding the arrest of Reid's brother. One of the attendees, according to Easton, contacted Las Vegas' Channel 8 but was told the TV station was not interested in the story.
