Former Brizzi Spokesman Pleads Guilty To Drunk Driving Charges

A former deputy prosecutor and spokesman for former Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi has pleaded guilty in a Hamilton County court to drunk driving charges made against him after he faced his third such arrest last July. Mario Massillamany, who is also the chairman of the Hamilton County Young Republicans, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, along with a Class D felony drunk driving charge due to a prior conviction in the past five years. In 2010, Massillamany was sentenced by a Hamilton County court to 60 days in jail and his driver's license was suspended for 180 days as a result of his second drunk driving conviction. His first drunk driving arrest occurred in 2000. Massillamany is scheduled to be sentenced by Hamilton Superior Court Judge Wayne Sturtevant on May 19. A jury trial scheduled for April 10 was cancelled after Massillamany requested a change of plea hearing, which was conducted this morning.

This guy never learns. Especially galling that he was a deputy prosecutor. What a hypocrite. The average guy down here in Marion County is in a lot of trouble with a third drunk driving conviction. Lets see if Massillimany gets favorable treatment because he's "connected." Isn't that how it works in Indiana. A thoughtful whistleblower like Ogden fights to save his career while a douche like Brizzi gets away with everything you can dream up. Even the low information guy in the street senses the corruption and favoritism. Or do you think Irsay will serve any time.

He didn't appear to get any special treatment the last time given the jail sentence he received.

Anonymous 1:08: Do your research before you speak! -In Marion County, a third time drunk driver gets time served, probation (which will be terminated if violated...meaning NO penalty), fines/cost (then found guilty-Indigent, meaning NO fine), license suspension (which is irrelevant, since he'll drive while suspended with impunity in Marion County anyway).

He got a much more severe penalty in Hamilton County, which takes crime seriously!

Totally agree with Anon 1:08 that it is not fair that Ogden should have to fight to keep his law license while Brizzi gets away with everything. Massillimany is not "connected" as much as you might think under these circumstances. He is too far down the ladder. Massillimany does not have a bunch of "files" like Brizzi does and he obviously does not benefit from Irsay's "I have inner demons from having a rich dad" excuse. Anon 6:30pm must think this is comedy hour saying that Hamilton County takes crime "seriously" (shall I start with all the rape and sodomy cases? And the foot dragging over Baumeister's bones in the back yard?) We will see if Massillamany and Irsay get the same treatment. If the guys making the phone calls for irsay get stopped, they will just get a ride home and never get put in the system. BTW, which public information did Hamilton Co. redact for massillamany? I am not here to defend MM, but with his and Irsay's story overlapping, it makes one wonder.

when will the disciplinary comm get
off their butt and initiate sanctions, based on a guilty plea?
This ought to warrant a 180 days suspended law license and active monitoring for additional potential alcohol abuse incidents after the suspension has been served.

All anyone has to do is hang out at Saddle Up in Castleton to see him absolutely hammered almost every weekend. This guy is going to kill someone before its over.
