GOP Captures Weiner's New York Congressional Seat

The Drudge Report dubs it "Revenge of the Jews." Political newcomer Bob Turner (R) has defeated a veteran New York Assemblyman, David Heprin, in a special congressional election to fill the vacancy of former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner for New York's 9th District, a heavily Democratic district that includes Queens and portions of Brooklyn. Turner carried the district, which includes a large concentration of Orthodox Jews, by six percentage points by linking his opponent to President Barack Obama and his failed economic policies. Last-minute pitches by former President Bill Clinton and Gov. Andrew Cuomo weren't enough to save David Heprin's campaign against Turner. The Washington Post suggests Obama's policies towards Israel hurt Heprin among the district's Jewish voters, who typically favor Democratic candidates by large numbers.

Finally - the American Jews are waking up! What took them so long? American soldiers have been risking their lives protecting Israel for a long time and that has not been a liberal idea.

It never was clear to me why so many American Jews vote for the Dems - I guess they have neglected staying on top of current history.

Obama's true colors have been showing vividly recently with regard to his sentiment toward Israel and her PM.

Barack - you need to go asap!

I see it as revenge of the democrats. They feel the same as most of us feel who voted for Ballard, I'm sure.
