Political Hack Roundup

Chief Deputy Kery Forestal of the Marion Co. Sheriff's office wants to be the next U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Indiana and Bart McAtee is running as a Republican for Marion Co. Sheriff. If Forestal doesn't get the marshal's job, he'll run as a Democrat for county sheriff. That's this morning's political hack roundup from the Star's Brendan O'Shaughnessy. Forestal and McAtee both worked for Bart's father, Joe McAtee, when he was the Republican sheriff. The McAtee family switched party allegiances and supported Sheriff Frank Anderson when Joe lost his bid to retake the sheriff's office to former Lawrence Mayor Tom Schneider. Kerry Forestal says he has always been a Democrat. Are there any professional candidates for U.S. Marshal or county sheriff? [UPDATED--An earlier version indicated Forestal was formerly a Republican]

I think the Star's O"shaugnessy is on last year's program and does not have a clue as to the Dem candidate for sheriff will be. It will not be Forestal.

And that comment should be a big clue to readers here who Art really is.
