Township Assessors History In Marion County
Voters in Marion County voted for the elimination of township assessors by wide margins in each of the county's townships. Hopefully, this is the first in a continued step towards the elimination of township government altogether. This will allow the City-County Council to make favorable adjustments in the 2009 budget to account for the savings taxpayers will realize from the elimination of nine township assessor offices.
