In a disturbing interview, the family of Major Davis, Jr., the man accused of shooting to death Officer Perry Renn, is speaking out about the shooting and blaming the police officer for his death in an interview with WISH-TV. Family members told WISH-TV's Jessica Smith that Officer Renn should have stayed in his car "since he could see Davis had a gun." "I don't know how the police was shooting," Davis' aunt, Yvonne Moornan said. "I don't know if they took concern of any kids running around."
Family members of Davis, who has four children under the age of 10, said they were still struggling to believe he could be a part of something like this despite his lengthy criminal history. The family still blame IMPD for the death of Davis' father, who died of a heart attack while being arrested on public intoxication charges in 2003. Davis' father did three years in state prison on drug charges. The family insists that Davis isn't a bad person, complaining that he was scarred for life because of what IMPD did to his father. One of the officers involved in the 2003 arrest of Davis' father was Officer Renn.
"I imagine he figured they were going to try and kill him," Pam Moornan, grandmother of Davis' children said. "I mean cause look what they did to his father." She said the family was having a cookout Saturday night when the shooting occurred. The family ran inside the house and hit the floor according to Moornan. The family members don't explain why Davis was carrying a high-powered assault rifle that he used on Officer Renn. When they went back outside, they realized the shooting involved Davis and Officer Renn. Moornan insists Davis is "not a bad person." "It's horrible what took place, but I mean, I don't think it's fair though for them to keep dragging his name through the mud."

That changes everything.
This may come across as sounding racist but the mother(s) of his 4 children will soon be going to SSA to apply for SSA disability/survivor benefits for his children because Major, Jr. is now either disabled or in the event that he would happen to pass away.
It occurs to me that open carry of rifles is legal. Did he have probable cause to even check his ID to determine he was a felon.
I was initially infuriated. Then I realized WISH did us a favor by airing the nonsensical ramblings of an idiot. It's good for the general public to see the ignorance, self-pity and outright malice that I see every stinking night. I'm guessing 85-90% of the folks who watched the piece were disgusted by her pathetic excuse-making. Overall, it's probably a win.
I will gladly buy the family a house in Detroit if they will agree to move. Or maybe we could send them to Mexico. What do you do when you have people that you just don't want in your city anymore? Remember when gentrification was a thing and people talked about cities gentrifying. What do they call the opposite; slumification or slumifying, when these horrible people drag our city down until nobody wants to be here anymore?
It's my understanding the police were responding to a call of shots being fired in the area when they encountered Davis, anon. 9:39.
Anon 9:39, the police were responding to a report of shots fired. It is safe to say that officers who work The Meadows know Major Davis from the multiple prior criminal acts he has committed. Anon 8:52, I think it would be safe to say that Major Davis was not supporting his illegitimate kids and that they were on welfare while he applied his criminal life choice.

A Point Worth Noting:
Indianapolis has NO Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles MRAP's, but smaller cities and towns, like Lawrence have them.
The Black Expo Riots are approaching....and yet, Why does The Mayor allow the rioting? $$$$$$ in his pocket?
Indianapolis needs MRAP's more than a Cricket Field...and could have several of them at the cost of that Cricket Field. Whose pocket got the MONEY on the Cricket Field??????
He was a 20 year street cop jack ass. I'm sure with him doing the job for that long he knew his local dirt bags (Major Davis) and didn't need to check hi ID because he had prior knowledge that Davis was in fact a convicted Felon. Pro life or not there are medical procedures as well as medication to prevent this kind of savage from being born.
Anon 9:41 pm... Thank you for calling the truth out: "...the nonsensical ramblings of an idiot."
Anon 9:39 you are a moran, you think its legal to walk the streets with an assault rifle? The officers were doing their jobs trying to clean up indianapolis which gets worse everyday because of fools like you.
Why are the cops hiding the woman who was riding with Gallico?
Was Davis set up by ...
Davis is trash like the rest of his followers. He was under the influence and had an assault rifle out there is nothing about what he was doing that would be legal which is why impd had to get involved. God bless the policemen that follow orders everyday protecting us from scum like davis and the rest of his family and friends. They all need put in cages
