Bulgarian Opposition Leader Narrowly Avoids Death When Assassin's Gun Misfires

A Bulgarian opposition leader, Ahmed Dogan, narrowly escape death when a would-be assassin leaped to the stage next to the podium where he was delivering a speech and pointed a gun within inches of his head. As luck would have it, the assassin's gun misfired, providing an opportunity for Dogan to push his attacker away before falling to the ground, allowing his security team to come to his rescue to help disarm and detain the man. Photos of the 25-year old arrested for the attack show that he possessed credentials allowing him access to the Movements for Rights and Freedom's party conference in Sofia.
