More On Life In Straubville

Recently, I mentioned how budget woes for the Department of Public Safety under the leadership of Director Frank Straub meant no toilet paper, hand sanitizers and other basic supplies for IMPD's district offices. Today, there is a report that Indianapolis Power & Light workers showed up at IMPD's East district office on North Shadeland to disconnect the power because someone at DPS failed to pay the electric bill. This comes on the heels of news that IMPD lost out on a half million dollar federal grant for human trafficking because someone at DPS failed to file an application to renew the grant, and that it belatedly filed 2010 crime statistics for Indianapolis with the FBI many months late, raising questions about whether crime statistics were being manipulated to make things appear more rosy than they are to benefit Mayor Greg Ballard's re-election campaign.

Well, isn't that nice? Straub spend some ungodly amount of money to remodel his suite of offices, but he won't provide toilet paper to other police officers and now he has their electricity shut off!

This is a display of "it's all about me!" Straub is obviously mad.

Is a man who puts his own suite remodeling above and a higher priority than hiring police/firemen, buying basic supplies, or paying the utility bill, qualified to be Public Safety Director? -I say not!

I hope the city council addresses this problem post haste.

I'm betting Herr DOK-TOR Straub starts all over building a brand new super-suite in the new building.
And this time he will have more room to make it even bigger and better!
