Gov. Mike Pence is planning a major jobs announcement in Indianapolis with officials of an unnamed Fortune 500 company this afternoon. According to a statement released by the governor's office, the announcement regards "more than 1,000 new jobs for Hoosiers."
UPDATE: Make that Carmel, not Indianapolis, as the location of today's economic development announcement. The IBJ reports that consumer insurance giant Geico is leasing office space at 101 W. 103rd Street formally occupied by Thomson Consumer Electronics that will home to more than 1,000 new employees of the company. Geico is owned by Berkshire-Hathaway.
