Jim Wallace Filming New Campaign Ad

I ran into businessman Jim Wallace on Mass Avenue today while returning from lunch and had a friendly chat with him. Wallace was in the midst of filming a new TV spot for his 2012 GOP gubernatorial campaign. Like Gov. Mitch Daniels, Wallace loves riding his motorcycle. There are lots of motorcycle racing fans in town this weekend for the running of this weekend's MotoGP race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Man! Wallace is certainly willing to throw down some serious coinage on this race. I think Pence better start kicking it up a notch! I was wondering Gary, I have heard increasing talk from some grassroots republicans that Pence isnt exactly acting like Wallace or Gregg are any threat to him. And that is upseting many in the GOP who think Pence is not taking this race seriously. As a fellow republican what is your take on Pence and his campaign thus far? Also I wonder if Paul Ogden thinks Pence isnt taking this race seriously enough. I and many other republicans are getting tired of Pence and his refusal to discuss issues. I mean what is he hiding? He has never been shy about expressing himself in congress. Why clam up now? The people want to know!

I think some observers see some serious missteps by Pence in the beginning of this race. A pronouncement that he did not plan to discuss issues until after the May primary went over like a fart in church. Many conservatives were stunned by his decision to support the debt increase legislation without any guaranteed real cuts in federal spending. It seem to fly in the face of everything he's preached all of these years about reckless spending decisions in Washington.

One last thing has does anyone know anything about the rumor that Pence's media guys have been angering the statehouse press corps? Also does anyone know who his campaign staff or Wallaces are made up of?

I think Pence has started taking it more seriously since he immediately scrapped his plan of not talking about issues before the primary. I don't know if he's taken it seriously enough though. The best politicians are those who run scared. Pence should see Wallace as a threat.

I see in the news this morning that Pence is opening his headquarters in Hamilton County.Go figure. The most heavily R county in the state. But isnt that where Jim Wallace was on the County Counsel and Fishers City Counsel ?

Maybe Wallace should open his headquarters right next to Pences.

Turn about is fair play, seems like Pence is trying to catch up with Wallace.P ences "Summer" video on his site is not very god

At least he didn't open his office up in Ersal Ozdemir's Majestic Building like all of the other Republican committees have done. As soon as Durham faded away, Ersal slipped right in to take his place and the Republicans jumped right in with both feet to accept his free-flowing money.

Jim Wallace is using Jeff Howe as his campaign manager. This is the same Jeff Howe who advised John Accetturro to send out that mailer about Brainard that sunk his campaign. Jeff Howe was also fired by Mike Pence years ago. The last 3 campaigns Howe has been on went down in flames and now he is advising Wallace. Does that sound crazy to anyone? Jim Wallace is a real nice guy but that shows some lack of good judgment in my opinion.
