Burd Ford Owner Dead In Apparent Suicide

Richard Burd of Burd Ford has been found dead at his dealership on Pendleton Pike this morning according to Fox 59 News in an apparent suicide. The reports says his wife, Christine, left him behind at the dealership last night, only to awaken early this morning and discover that he had never come home. Burd's body was found on a couch in his office. The couple have become quite well known in the Indianapolis area through TV advertising for their dealership using the catch phrase, "Burd's The Word."

Very sad that anyone feels bad enough to commit suicide without being able to communicate whatever it is that troubles them.

My sympathy to Mr. Burd's family and friends.

Rich was a great guy. Rich was just a little guy when I did business with his father thirty years ago.
Such a shame, my heart goes out to the family.

This is the first time I have ever heard of a local famous car dealership owner committing suicide at his company. This has caused much shock and pain, and I just hope we can learn something from Mr. Burd's action.
