State Lawmaker And Daughter In Critical Condition Following Downtown Crash

A car driven by State Rep. David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) in which his 23-year old daughter was also a passenger collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Capitol and Ohio Streets next to the State House around 7:00 p.m. this evening. According to WISH-TV, Rep. Niezgodski and his daughter were taken to Eskenazi Hospital where they are reported to be in critical condition.

UPDATE: Fox59 News reports that their conditions have been upgraded to stable.

News reports today indicate that Rep. Niezgodski suffered a broken rib and his daughter was treated for a concussion and has already been released from the hospital. I'm happy to hear they are doing well, but I can't figure out where these reports came from that their condition was listed as critical when quite clearly they did not suffer life threatening injuries.

that means that Pat Bauer will
now need someone else to drive him back to South Bend, on the rare occasions that Pat actually visits South Bend.
