IMPD Officer To Take Over Animal Care & Control After Director Resigns
IMPD Sgt. Randy Dodd becomes the 12th person appointed to run Indianapolis' Animal Care & Control agency in as many years after its most recent director, Dennis Papenmeier, resigned following an internal investigation. The media seems to have no idea why Papenmeier was under investigation. Rumors have circulated that it related to a recurring problem that plagued him in previous government jobs. Dodd, a 28-year veteran of the police department, can point to owning two dogs and two cats as a qualification for running the agency who recently made news when he rescued an abandoned cat on I-465. Good luck.
