The former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, has been found guilty on four of five charges of perjury and obstruction of justice in connection with the leaking of the identity of former CIA operative Valerie Plame. This is bad news for the Bush administration. Today's guilty verdict against Libby could lead to more prosecutions by the government according to Fox News analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano. However, in a briefing of reporters after the verdict, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said he anticipated no further charges being brought in the investigation absent new evidence.
It's not been a good week for Vice President Cheney. After being diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg yesterday, there is renewed speculation Cheney might resign, opening up the possibility Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice might be appointed to take his place.

Condi can't be VP. She's a freaking unindicted co-conspirator for this ridiculous war. She has been a less-harsh face on the war, for which she should be held accountable.
Lying to a grand jury and/or prosecutors was, and is, a crime. This jury convicted on four counts.
Beyond all reasonable doubt.
Why Libby didn't respond to questions with an "I don't recall" is beyond me. Instead, he willingly chose lies.
And, by the by, he's also guilty of having a stupid ninckname and not chan ging it.
LYing to a grand jury is a crime? Then why didn't Clinton go to jail?

So let me get this straight -- according to conservatives, lying about a blow job was an impeachable offense, but lying about outing a CIA agent focused on the Iranian nuclear program is much ado about nothing? Okay, got it.

If Cheney were to resign, and if Rice were selected by Bush, I would love to see the confirmation hearings. (And, for fun, just how would such confirmation hearings work if Cheney had resigned, and one of the Dems became incapacitated, resulting in a 50-50 split.)

An opportunist, purely and simply. In my book, she's an unindicted co-conspirator in the Chaney war.
