Elrod Picks Up Extra Vote In Recount

Jon Elrod (R) picked up an extra vote in a recount of the District 97 state representative race, giving Elrod an 8-vote win over incumbent Rep. Ed Mahern (D). The State Board of Accounts result will now go before the Indiana Recount Commission where lawyers for both sides will make their arguments. Expect the Commission to declare Elrod the official winner soon.

  3. The State Board of Accounts, although it sounds very formal, did not even look at over 40 ballots.

    Count em all.

This is perhaps the best example of why every vote counts.

As long as every single vote that arrived in the clerk's office before 6 p.m. Nov. 7 is counted, fine...whoever wins, wins.

    Anything less is a sham.
