Tully On Bosma's Conflict Of Interest

It's bad enough that House Speaker Brian Bosma has been wasting taxpayer dollars to fund his "Christian prayer" case for purely political purposes, but it turns out he's also using it to line the pockets of one of the partners in his own law firm. Matt Tully reports over at his blog that Indiana taxpayers have paid $27,139 for the legal services of Bosma's law partner, William Bock, III, on the prayer lawsuit. Bosma also uses taxpayer funds to pay Bock to serve as the House's parliamentarian.

  1. I'm tired of BB. But I suspect Ms. Fuldauer can't quite beat him...unfortunately.

I'm against people getitng dogs or cats without mandatory spaying. And I think the government should enforce that. Think I can get BBoz's law firm to take up that cause on the taxpayer dime?

Well, that's nice, 2:08, but the JCC and most of that crowd are at least two freaking miles from her district.

If only there were more time for Susan...

indyernie...she is mad and will stay that way till november 7th. Then mr."I like me best" BOZ-O the red nose clown can go back to making money the old fashion way... earning it. NO more taxpayers money wasted. What novel idea.

  6. B-Boz lives up on the edge of the county ... it's odd that he serves as the attorney down in Beech Grove. You'd think that GOP city govt would hire a lawyer who lives in B.G. and pays taxes there. Sounds like a political sinecure to me! Is Brian's business all based on political pull ?

  7. That would be a good question to ask Lacy Johnson, Wilson. He knows a lot about that.

  8. nice try to attempt diverting the discussion off your Republican Speaker of the House. I never heard Lacy Johnson trying to demonize gays like your GOP boy B-Boz ... most of the candidates Johnson backs are the most vigorous supporters of LGBT equality at the Statehouse and in government. On the other hand, Log Cabin types are just so delighted to find any Hoosier Republican politician who doesnt call them "Sodomites" to their face.

Yep, you are right on Wilson. the Boz family own the Beech Grove mayors office in the 50's & 60's.
Maybe BOZ-O is trying to make a comback. I wish him luck down there. He is going to need buddy's next month. They did make good ice cream.

IF Ms. Fuldauer pulls off the upset, and I sure hope she does, Boz will be back at the legislature, shilling for corporations and anyone else. Our track record of former Speakers who lobby is long...even those who danced around legalities.

He'd probably make a lot more money and endure a lot less grief.

    Wilson

You never complained when James Beatty, former Democrat County Chair got rich off the Center Township Trustee's office and Virginai Dill McCarty. That was one of sweetest deals in history.
    Check that one out.

What about Mayor Bart Peterson's 2 former deputy mayors Bill Shrewsbury, Market Square Condos, and Mike O'Connor's consulting contracts with the city.
