IMPD Chief Troy Riggs was joined by Mayor Joe Hogsett and the six senior staff appointees announced today to lead a reorganized department. It includes three assistants chiefs, two deputy chiefs and a chief of staff.

I just looked at the City Ordinance and there is no provision to appoint Chris Reeder as a police officer. What is up with that?
ReplyDeleteHe has quite a history of anti-police sediment and was active with the National Organization for Civilian Oversight of Police.
Reeder has no business working at IMPD. Lyin Joe must be creating another face job like the one he created for Hampton to buy off dissent in the black community.
ReplyDeleteLots of chiefs and no leaders. From what I can tell, none of the appointments have any experience dealing with poverty, homelessness, abandoned properties, food security and family structure dynamics to deal with crime based on Chief Riggs data driven approach.

ReplyDeleteThe Police should not have any experience dealing with poverty, homelessness, abandoned properties, food security and family structure as their main goal. The job of Police is to prevent crime and arrest those that commit crime. They are not social workers and they are not jailers. Should they have a heart for all in Marion County and elsewhere? Yes indeed! But those issues listed at 8:17 AM are mostly for social workers not Law Enforcement.
Let the Police police. Let the social workers and politicians take care of the social issues.
