Mayor-Elect Joe Hogsett's First Pledge: I Won't Roll Back Ballard's Illegal, Corrupt Deals

Mayor-elect Joe Hogsett has wasted no time in reassuring the downtown insiders he spent his campaign pretending to be fighting against. At a joint appearance with Mayor Greg Ballard, Hogsett once again went out of his way to applaud the illegal contracts Mayor Ballard awarded to Vision Fleet and Blue Indy and to reassure the downtown insiders profiteering at our expense from those corrupt deals that he will not roll back those deals. People wouldn't believe me when I told them how much public corruption Hogsett covered up as federal prosecutor in order to win the Indianapolis mayor's race. He could have sent Ballard to prison, but instead he cut a deal with him to not prosecute those crimes in exchange for Ballard's agreement not to run for re-election and open a clear path for him to succeed him as mayor.

Ballard is downplaying rumors he's interested in running against Gov. Mike Pence in next year's primary election. Ballard didn't dismiss his interest in running for political office again but says he's "not there yet." “I’m talking to universities and I got national water and energy companies talking to me. I’ve got a lot of that going on right now, but I’m still kind of busy doing this stuff for awhile.” Yeah, I bet you're talking to folks about high-paying, no-work jobs that are nothing more than a quid pro quo for the massive theft of our public assets in which you've been engaged the past eight years. We can thank our mayor-elect for the fact you won't have to pay for those crimes. I can't wait to see the list of downtown insiders Hogsett names to his transition team, which will get started dividing up their planned hauls for the next four years. Grab your wallets. A new team of thieves has arrived.

Gary, I am one who certainly believed you when told all of us more than once "how much public corruption Hogsett covered up as federal prosecutor in order to win the Indianapolis mayor's race. He could have sent Ballard to prison, but instead he cut a deal with him to not prosecute those crimes in exchange for Ballard's agreement not to run for re-election and open a clear path for him to succeed him as mayor."

GREG BALLARD CERTAINLY DOES BELIONG IN PRISON. And as we can see, it does not matter who won as Councilor because nothing is going to change. IT'S ALL STILL THERE, COUNCILORS!!! The corruption, the crony deals, the horrid infrastructure jammed into the earth... possible dangerous electrical infrastructure. I TOLD YOU SO time and again but I was right. Not that it makes any difference. The Disneylandization of downtown Indy will continue, a few cosmetics on some neighborhoods might occur, the corruption will continue.... ad nauseam.

Why isn't anyone asking questions about the six-figure campaign contribution laundered through another contributor to Hogsett's campaign to hide the contributor's true identity?

Thank you for reporting, Gary. This is so sad. As a Democrat, I expected this would happen. Corruption runs rampant in Indiana politics. R.I.P. democracy, accountability, and transparency.

I noticed Evan came back into town sans Susan to be with his favorite boyfriend on his special night.

Does Stephanie get to stay or does she have to go like each of the previous wives Joe married right before the election and then kicked to the curb after the election was over?

Anon 4:39... I don't know why you are so sad or apparently so taken aback at this news. Joe Hogsett promised before his win that like Chuckles Brewer The Hogster would not touch the illegal, crony, insider deal the corrupt corpulent ex soldier foisted upon the Marion County taxpayers. Just as with Chuckles, The Hogster is already Greg Ballard III.

And for the reseated Councilors who make such a big freakin' deal of their "vindication" and their self-proclaimed "suffering" for their positions ... not so fast, babes. So you can disagree, big deal, but could you lead and be a change agents? Could you be effective? HELL NO. And The Hogster know it just as we the people know it.

Are Anons 4:48 and 4:55 trying to imply something about The Hogster's true sexual orientation? Or just that The Hogster likes to change female brides as often as most of us change socks?

Is the Hogster more comfortable without a woman around all the time?

I saw some pictures of Stephanie. She's cute enough. Not sure about personality. Rich chicks in slacks don't usually make the snuggliest wives.

So another Hillary in the making?

When I heard Boss Hogg say Blue Indy was here to stay, I said to myself, well, the fix is in!
    Nothin is going to change!

Stephanie cute? meh. Blond stereotype, who is 12 years younger than Joe. Joe is her third husband, and she's his third wife. Maybe third time is a charm.

  13. I came across an interesting quote on Paul Craig Roberts web site. Substitute references to Europe with America and you have accurate description of politics in Marion County and AmeriKa in general.

“Today’s European politicians . . . are ‘test-tube politicians,’ who haven’t emerged from a process of significant political battles with worthy political oppnents, but have instead risen to power through the manipulations conjured by the strong players of the financial capital system, with the objective to control the political elite of the European continent. They are more employees than they are politicians. Moreover, their programme is not for public disclosure. Should they discuss in public what they really want to achieve, or rather what the bankers who appointed them want to achieve, even the stones will cry out in Europe in protest against them!

“Today’s European politicians are the product of a very particular historical period which started with the collapse of the European left and its integration into the established status quo and especially with the collapse of the USSR. They are also the product of decades of successful ‘filtering’ of European politics and of a very successful strategy of ‘entryism’ into the political elites, using in particular generalized corruption and the possibility to blackmail anybody, by the financial capital and by the most extremist representatives of the deep American state, organised around a ‘neoliberal’ and ‘neoconservative’ core respectively.”

ROTFLMAO on another Ballard descriptor chock full of truth...: "Yeah, I bet you're talking to folks about high-paying, no-work jobs that are nothing more than a quid pro quo for the massive theft of our public assets in which you've been engaged the past eight years."

How Greg can even believe he will be victorious in any future election is incredibly laughable. The Tuesday landslide for Hogsett may have more been a landslide vote against all that Greg Ballard and the corrupt MCRCC stands for.

Kyle Walker, Bob Grand, Greg Ballard, the still powerful/still involved David Brooks... they ran away their voters and it remains to be seen how many grass roots will return to again vote for these champions of corruption.
