The wealthy Lying Joe Hogsett is the probable winner... and as little regard I attribute to the Star's opinions about anything, Lying Joe has been around a long time whereas the newer to town Brewer proved throughout his campaign he is unconnected with anything "Hoosier" or "Indianapolis".
ReplyDeleteNo worries. We get the same continued corruption no matter who is on the 25th Floor or in the Council chambers.
IBJ has been unsuccessful in getting Hogsett's prosecution records. DOJ is not cooperating.
ReplyDeleteBrewer dated two friends of mine at the same time while he was separated. Told both the ladies the same lies about being in love, marriage, yada, yada.
If this man routinely lies to women he dates, can we expect him to treat citizens better.
If you think both candidates are pathetic, just write in "MELYSSA" in all caps, no last name. It sends a cultural message.
We've got four years to fix this. And mark my words, it will be fixed.
I was just downtown. Every other parking space is for Blue Indy, yet I didn't see a single one being driven or used. I couldn't help but chuckle and thank Gary for pointing out the absurdity of all these crony schemes. Yet both these clowns will support it. Don't vote, it just encourages the bastards. I think PJ O'Rourke.
ReplyDeleteKudos to Melyssa Hubbard and Eric Morris! I agree with you both. Wholeheartedly. I will stay home on election day, thank you very much. I haven't seen but ONE of those tiny unsafe looking unattractive Ballard rental cars on the roadways and I am willing to bet it was a Blue Indy "Ambassador" tooling around.
ReplyDeleteAttention Indianapolis Voters and Taxpayers.. "IT'S ALL STILL THERE" and you will continue paying for an illegal 15 year monopoly awarded without any authority by Mayor Ballard to a French corporatist BILLIONAIRE on a deal Republican Greg Ballard crammed down your throats by breaking criminal and civil laws (as per City County Counsel Fred Biesecker). Check the Vision Fleet and Blue Indy "contracts", check the "signatures", check... oh what's the use... the Councilors did NOTHING effective and they know it so .... let's just watch more of our money circle the drain.
To the politicians who tried so hard to walk every which way but the straight line of the truth on all the Republican Greg Ballard corruption you appear to have supported sub roas: "I TOLD YOU SO."
More surprising is the county Republican Party and Brewer himself are endorsing Hogsett...
ReplyDeleteJust was downtown to vote at the City County Building and I couldn't believe what is being done to uglify our city. Market Square Arena fit nicely into its space but the new money losing apartments taking its place are going to be a monstrous eyesore. But I guess the new transportation center will fit in nicely too once the 'old' City County Building is demolished for who knows what. Returning home via Meridian St. North I hadn't expected seeing so many vacant lots where businesses used to be. To me Meridian resembles Keystone Avenue more than a gateway to our city.
ReplyDeleteMelyssa: We've got four years to fix this. And mark my words, it will be fixed.
ReplyDeleteLOL. What in heaven's name would make you think that, let alone type it into a computer? That's truly funny. I hate to break it to you deary, but I've been following Indy politics since Lugar was mayor. It's never gonna be fixed. This city's gonna fall off the face of the earth before the people here get off their ample backsides and fix anything. It just ain't gonna happen. Forewarned is forearmed.
Write in Gary Welsh for Mayor!
ReplyDeleteHogsett is a Democrat.
ReplyDeleteHas he ever had a job that was not political or as a political appointee (cronyism)?
Hogsett was a failure as U. S. Attorney. He couldn't even indict Monroe Gray, even after the local newspaper documented corruption!
I'd expect it to be more Tax & Spend, cronyism, nod & wink, Straub-style corruption.....
Joe Hogsett failed to investigate any corruption surrounding the #MartinsvilleSexCrimes. In fact, Bose McKinney, provided the legal defense for the MSD of Martinsville School District to the tune of nearly $28,000. Bose McKinney also billed and defended the school district as the retired public corruption commander of the Indiana State Police took 7 sworn depositions from ALL the parties involved.
ReplyDeleteWho did Joe Hogsett go work for?.....Bose Mckinney. How much has Bose McKinney given to Hogsett's campaign?
Indiana is a very sick place right now with public corruption. SHAME on the IndyStar who reported the incident when Coach Tim Wolf was caught in a state of nudity with a young girl in an Indianapolis park....BUT to this day, will not report the full story.
You raise an excellent point, Ryan, about the endemic pedophile problem within the Martinsville school system, which you paid a big price for trying to expose. Joe Hogsett knew you were being targeted unfairly by law enforcement in this state for your role in exposing the pedophile problem there, and he allowed it to him, which only confirms my long-held view that whistle blowers in this state are always targeted by the corrupt people who control government in Indiana. Joe Hogsett's U.S. Attorney's office made no effort to use federal laws to go after the creepy coaches who got off with relatively light criminal charges for their years of abusing children. Joe's law firm was on the ground from day one working to keep that scandal from growing into what it really was, which was at least as troubling as the Jared Fogle case, which Hogsett's handpicked successor prosecuted with great fanfare.
ReplyDeleteAnons 10:06, 11:48, Colonel Harmon 1:24 RIGHT ON, RIGHT ON, RIGHT ON!!!
ReplyDeleteGary 6:55, Nailed It Perfectly As Always.
Gary, for gosh sakes, run for Mayor of The City Of Indianapolis.
Well kind readers it is obvious to anyone with a critical thought process in operation The Star endorsement of Hogshitt is meaningless. I suspect you could count on one hand the number of people who will vote for Hogshitt because of The Star's endorsement.
ReplyDeleteBallard must have realized with minutes of being elected Mayor the first time, he was infected by the Peter Principle, that is he had risen to his level of incompetence. He would have been quickly surrounded by the Shadow Government and reassured, the Shadow Government was there to help him. Ballard probably had enough on the ball to realize the Shadow Government was in the pilot's seat and he was just a passenger in First Class.
Brewer already knows who is in charge, so if Brewer does win, it will be Ballard 2.0.
As usual with all politics, the electorate is at fault for their total ignorance.
ReplyDeleteIn a money grubbing society, as always you are either "at the table or on the menu".
Just another way of saying, money talks and BS walks - right into political office.
If Gary runs for Mayor, they'll find a way to disbar him.
ReplyDeleteFind another town.
The two candidates appeared for softball interviews with Rafael Sanchez. Joe clarified his earlier statements that he was going to invest in neighborhoods outside of downtown to mean he will continue downtown investments, plus make investments in other neighborhoods, begging the question of how many billions of our tax dollars must be invested in developing downtown before one concludes "enough is enough." Joe lamented the lack of home rule in Indianapolis, which means he thinks the mayor should have the ability to raise taxes whenever he pleases just like Chicago's mayor has. Those tax and spend policies have sent Illinois and Chicago into a death spiral that can only be corrected by bankrupting state and city government.
ReplyDeleteChuck Brewer emphasized that he was going to spend more on pre-K education regardless of what the state does because he thinks education is the responsibility of city government. Never mind that you can't take care of basic services and expand city government into education unless your plan includes major tax increases. Both had nothing but words of praise for the past years under Ballard. The choices for Indianapolis taxpayers in this election could not be worse.
What has Hogsett or the democrat caucus done about a sitting city county councilor and pedophilia allegations?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete"The choices for Indianapolis taxpayers in this election could not be worse."
That statement also encompasses EVERY City County Councilor sitting or running for re-election. There is no need for a City County Council when Indianapolis features Emperor mayors and the Wizards Behind The Curtains (the entrenched corrupt attorney politicos and their law firms who run all these lying politicians like water from a tap).
Abolish the City County Council... after Vision Fleet and Blue Indy the taxpayers now see the City County Council serves no useful function other than to cash its paychecks. No need for laws when Ballard and the Chamber see no need to follow them... so why is there a need for the people to follow the laws???
This was one of the BEST threads I have read in a LONG time!! Hogshitt - that had me LOL! Truly this guy is full of it and himself. He IS one of those downtown insiders.
ReplyDeleteGARY for Mayor? I can accept that I won't always agree with leadership but at least Gary TELLS IT LIKE IT IS.
Melyssa? What a joke. Save it. I know you think people give a crap what people do in their bedrooms, least of all your friends, but as long as it is not illegal - and especially not with children - no one gives a flying rats rump.
