Jail Inmate Escapes One Day After Staff Shake-Up Announced
Marion County's new jail commander, Lt. Col. James Martin, is off to an inauspicious start. A day after Marion County Sheriff John Layton announced a shake-up of the jail staff, including naming Martin as its new commander, an inmate managed to escape from the jail. The Sheriff's Department says 34-year old Jessica Stringer used another inmates identity to escape from the jail book-out. One of the reasons given for this week's shake-up of the jail's staff was the mistaken release of several inmates.
Maybe that's because the MCSO worries more about patronage jobs, creating high-paying jobs for politicians who leave their offices, hundreds of fully equipped marked vehicles, motorcycles, etc. than it does being concerned with training deputies.
ReplyDelete"Used another inmates identity." -What did she do? -Cut someone's finger off and stitch it in place of her own so she had that fingerprint?????
ReplyDeleteC. Roger Csee is right-on! If the Sheriff were able to leave the 1970's-era of Cronyism & Political Patronage, he'd accept that his job is NOT policing this city. He does not need all those cars. He needs to reduce the Patronage staff and concentrate on teaching the special deputies how to properly do their job. Instead he is more worried about passing a new car to each patronage employee.
Why does he have the former (Democrat) fire chief as an executive on the payroll? I didn't know fire chief's had law enforcement or corrections training....or perhaps it's another Patronage hire-on????
ReplyDeleteGood job Layton! not
raw, naked incompetence on full display from your .gov leeches
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the jail is those tasked with the responsibility within the facility are losers. It has always been known the losers within the Sheriff's department were given duties at the jail. As for the persons employed via the private contractor within the facility....Not a one of them is a candidate for MENSA. Talk to one. They're dumber than a box of rocks. When you have the nearly brain-dead guarding criminals FUBARs are bound to happen.
