Durham Police Admit Using Fake 911 Calls To Enter Homes Without A Warrant

The Durham, North Carolina police have been the subject of numerous scandals of late. The latest is quite disturbing. A police officer testifying in a civil case involving equal employment opportunities admitted that police routinely lied about non-existent 911 calls as an excuse for entering homes without a warrant. According to the officer, police would target homes associated with persons known to have an outstanding warrant. The city's police chief, Jose Lopez, who recently came under fire for saying that a public defender should be shot because he represents criminals, insists it was never an official policy, and has sent out a memo to that fact. Don't forget the other trick of just calling in their own exigent circumstances.

It needs to be a crime or an immediately terminable offense for a cop to have a cell phone in the car or with him while on duty.

Wow...thank you for sharing your total lack of intellect and common sense with the rest of the world. Now please crawl back in your conspiracy theory hole and wait for the black helicopters to come.

Thanks, 12:38. That was profoundly insightful.

Unfortunately for the GOP, the core of the Republican Party is some really hard-core authoritarians, and they are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Stupidity, authority, control, obedience all appeal to the weakest of minds and the most frail of personalities. Few people are lining up for this plate of hell.

The GOP has a huge problem in that its core constituency is absolutely noxious to the rest of the country and is reliably seen as a laughingstock.

I think many Americans are tired of both of the pathetic political parties we have. Dem and Rep alike. The poster at the top is quite right. Even a small amount of research will confirm that the police in this country repeatedly abuse their power in many disgusting ways. This story doesn't surprise me at all.
