Obama: "Unfortunate" That You're More Likely To Die In A Car Accident Than A Terrorist Attack
President Barack Obama made another one of his celebrity appearances on the Jay Leno Show last night. In discussing the threat of terrorism, Obama made this jaw-dropping obervation: "The odds of people dying in a terrorist attack are still a lot lower than in a car accident, unfortunately." He's disappointed that there aren't more people dying in terrorist attacks? Call it a slip of the tongue or whatever, the statement went right over the head of ABC News' Jonathan Karl in this report. Karl, a White House reporter, seems not at all disappointed that the President's first public comments about the latest heightened state of terrorist alert that has led his administration to close dozens of U.S. embassies around the world is to a late-night entertainment host as opposed to the White House press corp. Obama flippantly suggested that Russia's decision to grant asylum to NSA whistle blower Edward Snowden was a "slip back into Cold War thinking." Yeah, Obama would rather see Snowden executed or sent to prison for life in the U.S. than live free in another country while fighting to protect our fundamental rights that he is determined to write out of the U.S. Constitution. It makes you wonder on which side of the Cold War Obama is fighting.
You're more likely to be killed by a cop than you are to be killed by a terrorist.
ReplyDeleteYou're far more likely to be harmed by a cop than you are by a terrorist.
You will never have your rights infringed by a terrorist; a cop will be the only person in your life to do this to you, and it will happen to you frequently and brutally.
A terrorist will never take your tax dollars or take your money. Cops will do this to you regularly.
Against whom should we be expending money to destroy? Which group poses the most regular threat to your freedom?
MSNBC, CNN and FOX are part of the entertainment Media. Their "Reporters" have all the depth of dried up stream bed in Death Valley. At least Leno bills himself as a comedian not as a Journalist.
ReplyDeleteI simply find it hard to believe that other than the most dyed in the wool political hack of the Democrat Party, that anyone could take Obama seriously.
The Warsaw Pact disappeared along with the Soviet Union, but NATO still exists and was even expanded after the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. So which country still has an Embargo on Cuba???
People might have thought the NEO-CONs rode out of town with GWB, but they are still there pulling the strings on Obama.
Will Obama give up the CIA Operatives who were convicted in an Italian court??? Will anyone in the Mega-Media pose the question of this seemingly double standard to Obama.
Obama lost his chance to ask for the Superbowl Ring back. Maybe Putin could use the old empty chair ploy at the Summit.
America the new police state. We have TSA searching trains, we have the CBP searching planes in Iowa because it's suspicious to fly from California to Iowa, we have homeland security buying billions of rounds of ammunition and 2700+ armored vehicles. We have many federal agencies examining every detail of your life; email, snail mail, phones, computer, internet usage etc. We have a president and Congress who, when they so choose, ignores the Constitution and the law; e.g. lying to Congress about the scope of NSA spying or exempting congress and federal employees from the Affordable Care Act. We have police arresting citizens for filming police activities in public places, we have police seizing cell phones and destroying evidence on cell phones. We have 50+ fatalities from tasers and yet police and taser companies tout tasers as non-lethal despite facts otherwise. We have spent hundreds of billions on the war on drugs and all we have to show for the effort is more para military police forces, more swat teams and every barney fife in the world has an m-16.
ReplyDeleteBut hey we safer right?
I sure wish that Paul Craig Roberts had a tv show on which Obama could be interviewed re the facts and conclusions Roberts discusses just in his last five articles:
ReplyDelete"Washington Thinks You Are Stupid";
"The New Economy is the No Jobs Economy;
"The Two Faux Democracies Threaten Live on Earth;
"Role Reversal: How the US Became the USSR";
"Coup d'état".
As well as his post of today:
ReplyDelete"Washington's Drive For Hegemony Is a Drive to War." God bless.
