Hamilton Co. Prosecutor Files Felony DUI Charge Against Former Brizzi Spokesman
According to public court records, the Hamilton Co. Prosecutor's Office has filed a Class D felony charge against Mario Massillamany, a deputy prosecutor and spokesman for former Marion Co. Prosecutor Carl Brizzi, following his arrest last weekend in Fishers for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The felony charge is required under I.C. 9-30-5-3(a)(1) because Massillamany had a prior DUI conviction within the preceding five years. The prosecutor also filed misdemeanor charges against Massillamany for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and endangering a person. Massillamany is currently employed as an attorney with the law firm of Barnes & Thornburg. Massillamany had a prior DUI arrest in Marion County in 2000 in addition to his 2010 arrest. The Indiana Supreme Court reprimanded Massillamany following his 2010 DUI conviction. An initial hearing has been scheduled in his case on July 17.
