Using Holmes' controlled massacre as a rallying cry, gun control proponents have succeeded in passing one of the toughest gun control laws in the heretofore gun-friendly Centennial State. Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law today a gun control law that bans ammunition magazines holding more than 15 rounds and requires background checks for all gun purchases, including private sales and online purchases. Magpul Industries, a gun accessories manufacturer based in Denver that employs 200, says it's pulling up stakes and leaving the state. Several Colorado sheriffs have vowed not to enforce the new law.
Ironically, Colorado's Corrections Director Tom Clements was gunned down in his home yesterday, eight months to the date that Holmes shot and killed 12 people and wounded 60 others in the Aurora theater. You will never guess who is the chief suspect. The Daily Mail reports that Colorado officials are looking for a Saudi hitman, who they believe was retaliating against Clements for refusing to allow a convicted sex offender from Saudi Arabia, Homaidan al-Turki, to return to his native country to complete his prison term. Al-Turki was a prominent member of Denver's Muslim community and a follower of the controversial imam, Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen who President Obama ordered killed in 2011 by a drone strike in Yemen. A week later, al-Awlaki's 16-year old son, also a U.S. citizen who lived in Denver, was mistakenly killed in a separate drone strike ordered by President Obama in Yemen where al-Awlaki was reportedly visiting and searching for his father when he was killed, along with about a dozen other Yemenese men. Al-Turki sold videos of al-Awlaki's controversial sermons before his arrest and conviction for keeping his housekeeper as a sex slave in his home for four years.
Al-Awlaki had been tied to several of the 9/11 hijackers, most of whom entered the U.S. after obtaining visas to legally enter the U.S. at the consular post in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with the assistance of the CIA--the same post that Obama's new CIA Director, John Brennan, ran for many years. Yeah, they worked for bin Laden, but the CIA was the agency responsible for creating the monster and his terrorist network. Al-Awlaki also became close to Maj. Nidal Hasan, the U.S. Army psychiatrist who went on a shooting spree at Ft. Hood in 2009, when he led a mosque in Northern Virginia not far from the Pentagon. Despite al-Awlaki's ties to several of the 9/11 hijackers, he was invited to go to the Pentagon and meet with top U.S. military officials months after the 9/11 attacks as part of our government's outreach efforts post 9/11 to Muslim-Americans. Al-Awlaki was later allowed to leave the country and head to Yemen where our government claimed he began providing operational support to al Qaeda. Al-Awlaki praised Maj. Hasan's Ft. Hood attack that left 13 of his fellows soldiers dead and 32 others injured.
So if you wonder why there's so much madness in Colorado, look no further than our own CIA. If people are really interested in making this world a safer place to live, we should begin by defunding our CIA, which seems to me to be our nation's own worst enemy. Wake up, America.
Exactly right, Gary. Poor Holmes and distressed Colorado.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as the de-secularizing of Arab countries that has been going on, Buthaina Neveln, born in Iraq before the First Gulf War, speaks in detail about this, on 3/19 on the RBN Spingola Speaks Show. So terrifying sad, and essential listening for smart and decent Americans. Thanks.
I'm amazed, I have to say. Actually barely ever do I experience a site that's both educative and entertaining, and permit me notify you, you may well have hit the nail on the head. Your notion is excellent the problem is anything that not adequate folks are talking intelligently about. I am extremely joyful that I stumbled throughout this in my find for something referring to this.
