A Gary City Court judge got a surprising answer when she asked a 30-year-old man charged with driving without a license why he didn’t have one:
“I’m blind,” replied Richard Bombain of Gary.
“How many people are you trying to kill?” Judge Itsia Rivera responded.
“I apologize,” Bombain said.
“I don’t want your apology. I want you to stay off the road,” Rivera warned.
Bombain said he is legally blind. Trial is set for Sept. 26.
