RIP Carl Moldthan

I received word today that a valued taxpayer advocate, local businessman/consultant and retired Indianapolis firefighter, Carl Moldthan, died yesterday. No word yet on the funeral arrangements. I'll update later when that information becomes available. Some of you may recall my blog post where Carl shared his insider perspective on the failed FSSA privatization initiative of the Daniels' administration. Carl had taken a job at the agency at the personal request of Gov. Mitch Daniels. He left the agency after about a year totally disillusioned by the management of it by former FSSA Secretary Mitch Roob. That entire debacle could have been avoided if someone in the administration had heeded Carl's warnings.

  1. It's so very sad that we don't have more people like Carl who cared enough to fight for us, the taxpayers... against either side.
That's why the administration (at all levels...federal, state, county, and township) can just do whatever they want. We have no safeguards.

  2. Although he was never elected to office, Carl Moldthan was a true public servant who wanted to hold public officials accountable. He will be missed.

  3. Mr. Moldthan was a good man of integrity. He was also a true champion of the Constitution.
