Bugging Device Inadvertently Left In Benjamin's Office
IMPD Chief Paul Ciesielski says a listening device and surveillance camera found in Deputy Chief William Benjamin's office during a sweep of it this week was inavertently left behind in his office by a prior occupant and was not operable. Nonetheless, he tells the media the investigation of the incident will proceed. If nothing else, this tempest in a teapot has demonstrated the depth of the rift and distrust between IMPD and Public Safety Director Frank Straub. The sweep of Benjamin's office occurred after he and other IMPD brass grew suspicious Straub or someone else was eavesdropping on his conversations.
"How convenient!"
ReplyDeleteLeft over from a prior occupant!
Who was that occupant?
Why did THAT occupant have a bugged office?
Inquiring minds want to know.

ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot! Does the Ballard administration think we'll buy that whopper?
Just how does Ciesielski know that it was there? Did he plant it? Was he spying on the "prior occupant"? And, just who was that?
If the bug was inoperable then why was it detected when the office was swept for bugs. Someone is not telling the truth here. HAD ENOUGH????
ReplyDeleteI know from deposing the vice-cop that investigated me, that surveillance equipment is on short supply for IMPD and that equipment has to be checked in and checked out.
ReplyDeleteWhy was this equipment, evidently in very short supply, left behind and unaccounted for? That equipment belongs to the taxpayers.
The first story stated it was not there the day before. I remembered thinking was he sweeping his office everyday? How else would he know it was not there the day before or was it just another poor job of journalism?
ReplyDeleteWell, the prior occupant was an idiot who came from the sheriff department. He had been on a mental retirement until Anderson was elected. Then Anderson re-hired him, and made him an instant major. Then when the "CON"solidation took effect, he became deputy chief of Investigations.
ReplyDeleteThat might answer some questions.
Name that prior occupant, please!
